Is it contagious if a man has glansitis?

Balanitis is a disease caused by many factors, and many types of balanitis are contagious. Except for simple balanitis, which is not contagious, most of them are caused by fungal infections, mold infections, etc. Balanitis is highly contagious, so when balanitis occurs, try not to have too much sexual contact, and your underwear needs to be washed separately.

Is glansitis highly contagious?

Due to the different types of glansitis, its infectiousness is also different. Some cases of glansitis are not infectious, such as non-infectious factors including local wounds, friction, contraceptives, soy sauce and cleaning agents. Some cases may show edema, erythema, erosion, exudation and even bleeding. If secondary bacterial infection occurs, it may become purulent and form an ulcerated surface. The patient suffers significant pain and has difficulty in moving. Clinically, it is called acute superficial inflammation.

Whether balanitis can infect other people depends on the detailed situation. There are many factors that may cause balanitis. Some balanitis caused by fungi and bacteria can cause infection. For example, infection with Candida albicans, Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, and Gonorrhea.

Some people have a burning sensation on their foreskin or erythema that comes and goes and occurs frequently, especially when they are tired and gets worse. In this case, you should consider whether it is an infection caused by the herpes virus. In this case, it is best to have a herpes virus test. If balanitis is caused by a genital herpes infection, it is also very easy to be infected.

Candida balanitis is more common in young people between the ages of 20 and 50. This is because young people have active sebaceous glands and moist vulva. In addition, they wear thicker underwear or do not clean the vulva properly, which makes it easy for the Candida fungi scattered in the air or parasitic here to take root and germinate, causing trouble and perhaps being transmitted to their loved ones.

Is balanitis highly contagious? I believe everyone knows that the treatment of balanitis is important, but it would be best if it could be prevented from happening. This requires men to pay attention to keeping themselves clean, paying attention to their reproductive hygiene, and strengthening physical exercise in daily life, so as to stay away from the troubles of various diseases.

Acute superficial galactitis

1. The affected area is erythematous, swollen, eroded, exuded, and has spontaneous pain and itching.

2. It is mostly caused by stimulation from friction, condoms (medicine), detergents, etc.

At the beginning, the patient may feel local moisture, redness and swelling of the penis skin, and itching of the glans penis.

A burning and hot sensation. When the foreskin is turned back, the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans penis are congested, eroded, and have exudate or even bleeding. After secondary infection, a shallow ulcer surface with a foul-smelling milky white purulent secretion can be seen. The surrounding inguinal lymph nodes are generally swollen and tender.

Candidal balanitis

1. In the early stage, there is flushing, and the surface is covered with pinpoint-sized red papules and rashes, which are covered with dot-like cheese-like secretions and pustules. In severe cases, there is erosion and exudation.

2. Direct microscopic examination of secretions revealed Candida spores and hyphae.

3. Patients often use broad-spectrum antibiotics or corticosteroids for a long time, or suffer from diabetes.

Trichomonal glansitis

1. The affected area is covered with erythema and papules, which gradually expand and have blisters on the surface, followed by erosion and exudation.

2. Trichomonas are found in the secretions.

Annular ulcerated glans: Erythema can be seen on the glans and foreskin, which gradually expands into a ring shape and may form a superficial ulcer surface.
