Circumcision surgery process

Circumcision surgery process

Problems such as prepuce being too long are common men's diseases. In severe cases, surgery is required for treatment. Due to the special location of the site, the doctor will be extra careful during the operation. Postoperative care must be done well, including diet, hygiene and other aspects, to avoid edema, infection and other conditions after the operation, which will aggravate the patient's condition and cause recurrence of the disease.

1. Circumcision surgery process

For circumcision surgery, patients can choose the urology department or the andrology department of the local hospital. Generally, the surgery can be performed in the urology outpatient clinic or the andrology outpatient clinic. After the surgery, the patient can go home and rest in bed more and move less to avoid edema of the foreskin. After the surgery, oral antibiotics should be taken for three days to prevent infection. In addition, the penis should be prevented from erection at night, and the underwear should not be worn too tight, but loose to avoid bleeding from the wound caused by penis erection.

2. Circumcision Surgery

During surgery, if the incision is too deep, it may injure the dorsal nerve plexus of the penis, so it is best to only remove a thin layer of skin to avoid damaging other tissues.

In addition, the main cause of dorsal nerve plexus damage, which is often overlooked, is excessive use of electrocoagulation to stop bleeding. Since the blood vessels and nervous system of the penis are very close, once electrocoagulation is used too much to stop bleeding, it is easy to damage the nervous system. If the damage is relatively minor, the nerves may recover on their own. If the damage is serious, it will cause abnormal nerve sensation and erectile dysfunction.

In addition to the possibility of damaging nerves and causing impotence, electrocoagulation hemostasis will also increase the chance of wound infection. Many medical literature reports point out that when using electric burning, local tissue is destroyed, and the burnt area has a reduced resistance to bacteria, making the wound more susceptible to inflammation and infection, and related complications. Try not to use electric burning during surgery, and prefer to use thin wire ligatures to stop bleeding, which is safer and has fewer sequelae.
