The process of urination gives people a sense of relief, especially when you hold your urine for a long time, the time of urination may reach more than a minute. However, from a medical point of view, the harm of holding urine for a long time is still very large, and some diseases are caused by such behavior. Some male friends said that they would obviously feel a stinging feeling in the urethra during the process of urination. So, what is the reason for the stinging feeling in the urethra when men urinate?

Causes

Inflammation caused by sexual contact with people infected with Chlamydia and Mycoplasma.

1. Gonorrhea

If a large amount of thick, purulent discharge is seen at the urethral opening, it may be gonorrhea.

2. Non-gonococcal urethritis

Only thin white mucus may be non-gonococcal urethritis.

3. Prostatitis

If there is only a small amount of secretion in the early morning or after urination, or even a small amount of grayish white mucus or purulent secretion is seen when squeezing the urethra, it may be prostatitis.

Common urogenital STDs that cause painful urination:

1. Gonorrhea

A sexually transmitted disease with the highest number of clinical cases caused by gonococci. The main symptoms are urethritis, redness and swelling of the urethra, pus, stinging and burning sensation. Difficulty in urination, frequent urination. If not treated in time, it can turn into chronic urethritis. Female patients with gonorrhea show symptoms of cervicitis, purulent discharge at the vaginal opening, redness and swelling of the vagina, congestion and stinging sensation, and no other obvious symptoms.

2. Non-gonococcal urethritis

A sexually transmitted disease mainly caused by Chlamydia trachomatis and Mycoplasma. The symptoms are similar to those of gonorrhea. The incubation period is 10 to 20 days. The onset of symptoms is mild, including urinary pain, urethral discomfort, urethral itching, burning or stinging, urethral redness and swelling, urethral secretions, thin, "slippery" phenomenon in the morning, etc. Improper handling or treatment in time can cause premature ejaculation, acute epididymitis, prostatitis, male infertility, etc.

3. Genital herpes

A highly contagious sexually transmitted disease caused by herpes simplex virus type 2. Symptoms include itching or burning, pain, and swelling of the genitals, thighs, or buttocks. Symptoms include obvious ulcers on the genitals, buttocks, anus, or other parts of the body. The lesions heal within a few weeks, but most people have relapses.

4. Condyloma acuminatum

It is a sexually transmitted disease that is the most difficult to cure and is caused by the condyloma virus, which is the human papillomavirus. There are many subtypes of condyloma virus, such as HPV1, 2, 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33 and 35. Condyloma warts can occur on the vulva, vagina, cervix and anus. Cauliflower-like growths appear in the genital area, which can break, ooze and become infected, and even appear in the throat.

The course of the disease is long and the symptoms appear and disappear from time to time. The natural course of the disease is divided into three stages: the first stage is the appearance of erythema, papules and ruptures at the site of virus invasion, which may disappear after a period of time; the second stage is the large-scale reproduction of the virus in the blood, and erythema, blood rash, maculopapular rash, etc. similar to pityriasis rosea, psoriasis and acne appear on the skin and mucous membranes. If it is not treated at this time, it will enter the third stage, which will be life-threatening if not treated in time.

6. Mycoplasma and Chlamydia

Mycoplasma and Chlamydia are a special type of non-gonococcal urethritis. They are neither bacteria nor viruses, but a separate type of microorganism.
