What does morning erection mean? Here’s what you need to know!

Normal adult men will have morning erections. The so-called morning erections are the phenomenon of unconscious penis erection in the morning. This situation is not controlled by the brain and does not require external stimulation. It is worth mentioning that this phenomenon is very normal.

1. What does morning erection mean?

Morning erection refers to the unconscious erection of the male penis between 4 and 7 in the morning, which is not controlled by the situation, action or thought. Morning erection is an important manifestation or indicator of normal sexual function and strength. The reason for morning erection is still undetermined in the medical community. The penis of a normal man is usually in a relaxed state except for erection under sexual stimulation and certain external stimulation. However, sometimes the reflex action of internal organs can also cause penile erection. The most obvious is that penile erection often occurs before waking up in the morning, which is medically called morning erection.

2. Principle

If the bladder of a man is full of urine before he wakes up in the morning, he will often have morning erections. This spontaneous physiological phenomenon is not subject to human will. With the increase of age, the frequency and duration of penis erections will gradually decrease, which generally has no effect on the body. There is no such thing as nocturnal erections. The penis is erect but not erect? Does it mean that it is erect but not hard? If it is erect but not hard, it is not considered as the disappearance of the erection, but a manifestation of impotence. The normal amount of semen ejaculated by an adult man each time is 2-6 ml. If the amount of semen ejaculated each time is less than 2 ml, it means that there is too little semen. Too little semen may be caused by too frequent sexual intercourse and insufficient production and storage of semen. Therefore, sexual intercourse should be prohibited 5-7 days before the semen test, and there should be no spermatorrhea. At this time, a semen test will be more accurate. When the amount of semen is too small, it cannot maintain sufficient nutrition for sperm, affecting metabolism and sperm activity, which can lead to infertility. Infertility caused by mental stress or excessive sexual intercourse, insufficient production or storage of semen can be solved by adjusting the frequency of sexual intercourse, appropriately extending the interval time (1-2 times a week), eliminating stress factors, and improving work and living environment. If the amount of semen is small due to insufficient semen production caused by systemic chronic diseases, malnutrition, seminal vesiculitis, prostatitis and other diseases, the health of the body should be improved, and corresponding treatment should be actively carried out for different causes.

3. Influencing factors

1. Age factor: Under normal circumstances, age is a determining factor for morning erections. From the beginning of sexual maturity, the younger the age, the more frequent the morning erections and the longer they last. With age, morning erections gradually weaken or decline.

2. Disease factors: Many diseases can affect sexual function and morning erection, such as high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, leukemia, tuberculosis, malignant tumors, diabetes, lumbar disc herniation, spinal cord injury, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.

3. Drug factors: Anti-tumor drugs, anti-hypertensive drugs, anti-diabetic drugs, antacids, sedatives and Chinese medicines such as Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Phellodendron chinense, and Licorice can all reduce morning erections; while drugs such as ginseng, astragalus, pilose antler, deer penis, fur seal kidney, epimedium, wolfberry, Morinda officinalis, and Radix Atractylodes macrocephala can make morning erections more obvious.

4. Sleep: Whether you get enough sleep and the quality of your sleep will affect hormone secretion to varying degrees, thereby affecting morning erections to varying degrees.

5. Mental factors: severe mental trauma, excessive grief, depression, etc. can significantly reduce morning erections. Most of these patients show slow or no erection during the day.

6. Cardiovascular factors: High blood viscosity, penile venous valve and other diseases will reduce morning erections. If the patient shows that the penis cannot be filled, it is mostly due to arterial reasons. If the erection lasts for a short time, it is mostly the result of venous reasons.

7. Fatigue: Excessive fatigue and physical exhaustion can also affect morning erections.

8. Food factors: Donkey meat, fish, rooster meat, leeks, watermelon and other foods can significantly improve morning erections.

9. Bad living habits: such as excessive smoking, drinking, irregular work and rest time, too little sleep at night, etc., can also affect morning erections.

10. Other factors: such as endocrine factors, hypopituitarism, environmental pollution, etc., can also reduce or even eliminate morning erections.

11. Weighted squats are positively correlated with the frequency and duration of morning erections.
