Gonorrhea is relatively unfamiliar to most people, and many people do not know what it is. Gonorrhea is a human parasite, and its morphology and staining are similar to those of meningococci. Gonorrhea has a great impact on the human body and is closely related to bacterial infections. 1. Overview Gonorrhea is a strict human parasite that often exists in the white blood cells of the purulent secretions of acute urethritis and vaginitis. Its morphological staining is similar to that of meningococci. The pathogen that causes gonorrhea is "Neisseria gonorrhoeae", commonly known as gonococci. This pathogen has the ability to self-regulate and can acquire drug resistance through mutation, or at least reduce the efficacy of drugs, and it is developing this immunity to more and more types of antibiotics. First, penicillin failed to work against it, then tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, and now cefuroxime. 2. Shape Morphology and staining: Gonorrhea is oval or bean-shaped, with a length of 0.6-0.8µm and a width of about 0.5µm. They are often arranged in pairs, with the adjacent surfaces flat or slightly concave, like two beans facing each other. They have no flagella and do not form spores. In the body of acute infection, their morphology is more typical and they are mostly located in the cytoplasm. In the chronic stage, they are outside the cells. Gonorrhea is Gram-negative. When stained with alkaline methylene blue, the bacteria are blue. When stained with PappehheimSaathof, the bacteria are red with a sky blue background, which is very clear. 3. Structure The pathogenicity of gonococci is closely related to the structure outside the bacteria. The outer structure of gonococci is the outer membrane, and the main components of the outer membrane are membrane proteins, lipopolysaccharides and pili. Membrane proteins can make gonococci adhere to the human mucosa, enter human cells through phagocytosis, multiply in large numbers inside the cells, causing cell disintegration, and gonococci spread to the submucosal layer to cause infection. Pili easily adhere to the surface of epithelial cells in the uterine cavity and oral cavity, and are pathogenic and contagious. 4.Diet therapy After contracting gonorrhea, one should eat a light diet, drink plenty of water, avoid spicy foods, and do not drink alcohol. Some patients often have their condition aggravated or relapsed due to drinking. |
