What are the symptoms of orchitis?

Orchitis is a common disease that threatens male reproductive health. Common symptoms include testicular pain, testicular swelling, and tenderness. Pay attention to these symptoms in your daily life and take timely treatment and coping measures.

Clinical manifestations

1. High fever and chills.

2. Testicular pain, with radiating pain in the scrotum, thigh and groin areas.

3. The diseased testicles are swollen and tender. If purulent, they feel like purulent effusion when touched.

4. Often accompanied by scrotal skin redness and swelling and intrascrotal hydrocele.

5. Children with viral orchitis may sometimes experience parotid gland enlargement and pain.

Diagnosis

1. Physical signs: Symptoms of mumps or other acute infectious diseases. One or both testicles are enlarged and painful. The boundary between the testicle and the epididymis is unclear. Sometimes acute hydrocele may occur.

2. Laboratory examination: increased white blood cell count, normal urine or occasional protein, or microscopic hematuria. Mumps has a certain degree of damage to kidney function, and special viruses can be detected in urine.

3. Based on clinical manifestations and signs, laboratory tests can make a clear diagnosis. However, it still needs to be distinguished from acute epididymitis clinically. In the early stage of acute orchitis, the inflamed epididymis can be palpated, but in the later stage, the boundary between the epididymis and the testicle is unclear. The absence of urethral secretions, purulent urine and systemic infectious diseases can help with the diagnosis.

Prevention

1. Middle-aged men should pay attention to their testicle care. Testicle care is an important means to solve men's sexual dysfunction.

2. If you feel any pain during massage, it may be orchitis or epididymitis. Please go to the hospital for examination immediately.

3. Bilateral lesions of acute mumps orchitis can cause irreversible damage to spermatogenesis and even testicular atrophy, leading to male infertility.

4. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and increase the intake of vitamin C and other ingredients to enhance the body's anti-inflammatory ability.
