What is motion sickness? These are the symptoms of motion sickness!

When we are traveling by car, boat or even on a plane, we often see some people feel dizzy and vomit. This is probably because of the turbulence of the car or boat, which causes motion sickness. So, in addition to vomiting, what other symptoms does motion sickness have?

What are the symptoms of motion sickness?

Motion sickness refers to the vibration and shaking of a car or boat, which causes the inner ear labyrinth to be unable to adapt and regulate the body's balance, resulting in increased sympathetic nerve excitability and nerve dysfunction, causing symptoms such as vertigo and vomiting. Motion sickness varies from person to person, and poor sleep and excessive fatigue can easily cause motion sickness. Depending on the means of transportation, it can be called motion sickness, seasickness, airsickness (aviation sickness), and cosmic sickness.

Prevention

1. Strengthen physical exercise to enhance the tolerance of the vestibular organs. Motion sickness often occurs in people with more sensitive vestibular organs. Therefore, pay more attention to physical exercise, do more movements such as turning your head, bending your waist, turning your body, and squatting, so as to increase the tolerance of the vestibular organs.

2. Overeating, fatigue, lack of sleep, polluted air, emotional tension, and special smells such as gasoline and fumes may all contribute to the occurrence of motion sickness and worsen the symptoms, so avoid these adverse factors.

3. Special vestibular training. Motion sickness can be prevented through rehabilitation training, such as repeated boat and car training to improve the vestibular organs' ability to adapt to irregular movements. In addition, people who are afraid of motion sickness can often participate in some activities, especially sports that help adjust the body's position and balance, such as swings, slides, parallel bars, mat rolls, etc., which can improve the vestibular organs' ability to adapt.

4. When riding in a car or boat, limit the movement of your head as much as possible. You can rest your head against the backrest to reduce the stimulation of acceleration, especially rotational stimulation. If possible, lie flat as much as possible.
