Elbow pain, what factors are causing it?

The elbow is supposed to be a very hard part, otherwise there would be no rules against elbow strikes in major sports events. Although the elbow joint looks very hard, it is actually prone to disease. Some men always feel pain in their elbow joints. What is the reason?

Causes of Elbow Pain

The symptom of elbow pain is called tennis elbow. Most cases of tennis elbow develop slowly. Patients feel pain in the upper and outer part of the elbow joint. The pain may radiate upward or downward. They feel sore and uncomfortable and are unwilling to move. They are weak in gripping objects. The pain may be aggravated by actions such as gripping a spade, lifting a pot, twisting a towel, and knitting a sweater. Generally, there is a localized tender point on the outer side of the elbow, some swelling, and in severe cases, bone hyperplasia may be felt. Sometimes the tenderness may radiate toward the hand. There is no local redness or swelling, and the flexion and extension of the elbow joint are not affected, but there is pain when the forearm is rotated. In severe cases, pain may occur when the fingers are straightened, the wrist is raised, or the chopsticks are held. However, the pain is relieved when the arm is bent and the wrist is externally rotated. A small number of patients also feel that the pain is aggravated on rainy days.

How to treat tennis elbow

1. Rest should be given in the early stage, and the affected limb should be fixed with a triangular bandage and hung in front of the chest. Local hot compress and physical therapy can be applied.

2. You can use kneading, pressing, straightening, calming and pressing techniques to massage once a day. It can relieve blood vessel and muscle spasms, relax muscles and activate blood circulation, and straighten muscles. Pay attention to gentle movements during massage, and avoid rough and strong pulling to avoid secondary injuries.

3. Acupuncture, external washing and application of Chinese herbal medicine, and the application of analgesic plasters also have certain effects, achieving the purpose of dispelling wind and dampness, relaxing muscles and tendons, and promoting blood circulation and relieving pain.
