What to do if you have convulsions? Emergency treatment methods for convulsions

Convulsion is a state in which muscles are out of control. When people have convulsions, parts of their body will shake repeatedly. In mild cases, people are relatively conscious, but in severe cases, they lose consciousness and experience full-body muscle spasm. If a convulsion occurs, how can we provide first aid?

1: What to do if you have convulsions

1: When an epileptic seizure occurs, a rolled-up handkerchief or other object should be placed under the patient's tongue to prevent the patient from biting the tongue. If the seizure lasts for more than 1 minute, a medical assistance number should be called as soon as possible, and the patient should be placed in a side-lying position to prevent suffocation.

2: When a child has a fever and syncs, measures should be taken to lower the body temperature, such as bathing with warm water, and the child should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

3: In case of acute cardiogenic cerebral ischemia, you should call for medical help immediately. At the same time, the patient should be given oxygen. For patients with cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be performed quickly until medical emergency personnel arrive.

2. Types of convulsions

1: Simple partial seizures: convulsions, numbness, sweating, dizziness or nausea, hearing, vision, smell, taste disorders, strong "hallucinations".

2: Complex partial seizures: pulling clothes, swallowing constantly, and walking around.

3: Atonic seizure: Sudden loss of muscle control, resulting in sudden collapse and rapid recovery.

4: Myoclonus: Violent, brief twitching of the whole or part of the body, often causing the patient to fall to the ground.

5: Absence seizure: Often called a petit mal seizure, it is a brief loss of consciousness with no awareness of what is happening around you.

Three: Another thing to note is that

Guide the convulsion patient to avoid danger and stay with the patient until he/she fully recovers. You can also comfort the patient and call 120 emergency number in time and wait for the ambulance to arrive.
