What to do if you have a drug allergy? Be alert to drug allergies

When people are sick, they often choose to take medicine for treatment. However, some people will have an allergic reaction after taking a certain medicine. When we go to the hospital, we often need to do a skin test, which is actually a way to check whether we are allergic to this medicine. How should we deal with drug allergies?

1: The dangers of drug allergy

1: Drug allergy is a common problem encountered by patients during medication. Once drug allergy occurs, mild symptoms include skin flushing, itching, palpitations, and difficulty breathing; severe cases may lead to shock or even death.

2. Treatment of drug allergy

1: Once a drug allergy reaction occurs, the patient should immediately stop taking the suspected drug and go to the hospital for prompt diagnosis and treatment.

2: If the allergic reaction is mild and you have anti-allergic drugs (such as Claritin, Prolamine, Cetirizine, etc.) at home, you can use them immediately according to the instructions.

3: If the patient has shortness of breath, pale face, cold hands and feet, and low blood pressure, he should be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment immediately. Before going to the hospital, try to quickly let the patient lie flat on the ground, let the head tilt to one side, unbutton the clothes, and ensure that breathing is unobstructed. If some simple first aid measures can be taken, such as clearing secretions from the mouth and nose and breathing oxygen, it will be more conducive to the relief of the shock patient.

4: Supportive therapy provides patients with favorable conditions and avoids unfavorable factors in order to successfully complete the self-limiting course of the disease, such as bed rest, nutritious diet, maintaining a suitable cold and warm environment, and preventing secondary infections.

5: Enhance excretion by using laxatives and diuretics as appropriate to promote the excretion of drugs in the body.

3: Many people are interested in antibiotics

Allergy: Before using this type of medicine, you should confirm whether you are allergic to it. You can go to the hospital for a skin test to confirm.
