What to do about testicular atrophy? Treatment methods for testicular atrophy

Testicular atrophy refers to a disease in which the male testicles shrink and become soft. Testicular atrophy is mostly caused by viruses, especially the mumps virus. In addition, it may also be caused by unreasonable underwear design, etc. What should men do if they suffer from this disease?

1: Diagnosis of testicular atrophy

1: Patients with testicular atrophy may have one or both testicles atrophied, small and soft, occasionally hard, or slightly swollen and painful. In addition, patients may also have different degrees of incomplete development of secondary sexual characteristics, such as breast development, delayed puberty, and even male feminization. At present, the internationally used high-volume testicle measuring device is often used to measure testicular volume. The size range of Chinese testicles is 15-25. In clinical practice, those smaller than 12 are often diagnosed as "testicular atrophy." In addition to measuring the size of the testicles, attention must also be paid to the texture of the testicles. If the texture of the testicles becomes soft, it indicates that the degree of damage is more serious. In addition, semen examination is also very helpful for diagnosis. However, the most accurate method for diagnosing testicular atrophy is testicular biopsy.

2. Testicular atrophy treatment and care

1: Bilateral testicular atrophy may lead to infertility, in which case severe damage to the spermatogenic epithelium can be seen. Therefore, unilateral testicular damage can still result in fertility, but bilateral damage can lead to oligospermia or azoospermia. Orchitis or epididymitis caused by gonorrhea can lead to testicular dysfunction and partial or complete epididymal obstruction.

2: As long as the testicular injury is not "fatal" and is only partial, normal fertility can be restored through treatment. For those whose testicles have completely lost their function, treatment should be abandoned and artificial insemination should be used to reproduce.

Three: No matter what the situation is,

Go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment, because this is a serious disease, the doctor needs to understand the actual situation before he can come up with the best treatment plan.
