Drinking beer after exercise does not relieve fever

Beer looks cool (especially iced beer), and it does give you a cool feeling when you drink it. However, if you drink a bottle or a can of beer, you will still feel dry mouth and throat, and your whole body will feel hot. After all, beer also contains alcohol. Although the alcohol content of beer is low, after drinking a bottle (can) or more, the alcohol content that enters the human body is quite considerable. After exercise, the human body sweats a lot, consumes a lot of energy, and is prone to fatigue. If you keep drinking beer, the "hot" feeling caused by alcohol will continue, and it will not achieve the purpose of cooling the body down.

Beer cannot replenish sugar and water

A 360ml bottle of beer provides 16 grams of sugar, which is about 5.6 grams less than a bottle of sports drink with the same volume and containing 6% sugar. More importantly, the main source of heat energy in beer is alcohol rather than sugar. Although it is absorbed quickly, the energy in alcohol is only metabolized in the liver and not in the muscles, so beer cannot replenish the energy consumed by muscle work. On the other hand, the alcohol in beer stimulates the kidneys to produce urine, accelerates the loss of water in the body and aggravates dehydration. Studies have shown that within 4 hours after drinking beer, the body can lose 3% of its body weight due to water loss. If you drink beer immediately after exercise (especially after high-intensity exercise), it may aggravate the dehydration phenomenon after exercise, which is extremely detrimental to your health. Therefore, experienced coaches always remind athletes that they should not use beer as a drink to replenish sugar and water before, during or after exercise.
