Don’t sleep too much after staying up late

Many white-collar workers usually work overtime and stay up late. They often go to bed at 3 or 4 in the morning, and then sleep until noon or even afternoon. Sleep medicine experts point out that "you feel that you have slept enough, but you are still tired. Because the sleep you get is of poor quality, you still feel half asleep after getting up." Therefore, for people who work consecutive night shifts, they should reduce the amount of sleep they take in the morning and increase the amount of sleep they take in the afternoon. Generally, the amount of sleep they take in the afternoon should not exceed 3 hours, so that they can achieve a good rest. In addition, it is also recommended that those who work overtime and stay up late can quickly recover their physical strength if they learn to take a nap during the day or take a 1-hour lunch break.

Chinese medicine conditioning method:

(1) Insist on soaking your feet in hot water. For people with mild insomnia, soaking your feet in hot water before going to bed is effective. Prepare a basin of warm water at 38℃ to 40℃, soak your feet in the water, close your eyes and relax, and persist for half an hour. If you buy some rosin and put it in a cloth bag and soak it in the water, the effect will be better.

(2) Dietary considerations. People with insomnia should avoid spicy, warm, and dry foods that damage the yin and consume qi, such as cigarettes, strong tea, coffee, cocoa drinks, chili peppers, onions, pepper, cinnamon, mustard, etc. Instead, they should eat more foods that calm the mind, such as lotus seeds, lilies, and red dates. A glass of hot milk before bed is very helpful.

(3) Angelica sleeping tea. Add 10 grams of angelica to 500 ml of water and bring to a boil; then simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, filter the water and drink it as tea. Angelica can relieve autonomic nervous system disorders and has a good therapeutic effect on neurasthenia and insomnia. This tea is more effective when drunk before bed.

(4) Lotus seeds, lily and lean pork stew. Add 20g lotus seeds, 20g lily and 100g lean pork, add appropriate amount of water and stew together. After the meat is cooked, add salt to taste and eat once a day. It has the effect of clearing the heart and moistening the lungs, replenishing qi and calming the mind. It is suitable for people who suffer from insomnia and irritability after staying up late.
