If hemorrhoids are not treated in time, be careful of developing perianal eczema

Perianal eczema is a type of eczema and is not common in daily life. It is usually caused by hemorrhoid patients not treating hemorrhoids in time. So what are the symptoms of perianal eczema?

Common symptoms of anal eczema include itching, anal moisture, and polymorphic rash.

(1) Itching

The patient feels severe itching in the anus and perianal skin, and rubs the area with his underwear consciously or unconsciously until he feels comfortable;

(2) Anal dampness

Caused by the secretion of eczema, in mild cases, the anus is damp all day long, with a fishy odor, and the underwear becomes yellow and hard. In severe cases, the underwear sticks to the anus and needs to be torn off by hand from the sticking place. It is especially aggravated at night.

(3) Polymorphic rash

The rash has various manifestations. Initially, the affected skin becomes red and swollen, spreading to the healthy skin. Then, there are scattered or flaky papules the size of millet grains. As the rash continues to develop, the papules are filled with fluid, forming papules or blisters, which form pustules after infection. After the pustules rupture, the surface of the abscesses becomes exudate and erodes. After the exudate dries, a scab is formed. Due to the long course of the disease and repeated stimulation by secretions, the skin around the anus often becomes thickened, leathery, and cracked.

Anal eczema is a common allergic skin disease in anorectal medicine. It is characterized by itching, secretion, polymorphic rash, and easy recurrence. It makes patients itchy, painful, and uneasy. Let's see if hemorrhoids can cause anal eczema.

Beware of hemorrhoids that are not treated and may cause anal eczema: Can hemorrhoids cause anal eczema?

The answer is yes. When you have internal hemorrhoids, the hemorrhoids will prolapse, which will increase the local secretions of the anus. The secretions discharged from the intestines or the secretions from the anal glands will irritate the local skin of the anus, thus forming anal eczema. However, the cause of anal eczema is not just internal hemorrhoids.

Anal eczema is a common allergic skin disease in anorectal medicine. The lesions are mostly limited to the anus and perianal skin, and can also extend to the perineum and external genitalia.
