Don't worry about buying dried squid! These soaking methods are the most labor-saving

In the market, there are not only fresh squids from the sea, but also pre-dried squids, commonly known as dried squids. In fact, both types can be eaten after buying them, but the latter needs to be soaked, which takes a little time. Don't think that it is very difficult to soak dried squid. As long as you master the following methods, soaking it will be easy.

Method 1

1. Take a large basin and pour in a proper amount of warm water. The water temperature should be 40 degrees. Put the dried squid in and soak it for about half a day.

2. Take out the soaked dried squid, pour out the water in the basin, and refill with clean water. The clean water should be enough to cover the dried squid. At the same time, add Chencun lye water. The ratio of Chencun lye water to clean water is 20:1.

3. After 3 hours, touch the squid with your hand. It should have swelled and softened.

4. Take out the squid after it has grown in size and rinse it repeatedly with running water to remove the alkali. I usually rinse it for about 10 minutes.

5. Finally, soak the expanded squid in clean water and then it can be processed and cooked.

Method 2

1. First of all, when buying dried squid, you must choose dried squid with a smooth surface, firm meat, dry and thick body, no mold spots, and bright luster.

2. When soaking, first soak the squid in cold water for 2 hours. After taking it out, soak it in 1:100 alkaline water for 8 to 12 hours, and the dried squid will be fully soaked.

3. Then take out the soaked squid, rinse it with clean water, and knead it with your hands while washing until the squid's surface is no longer slippery and has no peculiar smell.

4. Next, soak the squid in cold water and use it as needed.

5. Here, China Food Network would like to point out that if the squid is relatively old, the concentration of alkaline water can be slightly increased. To distinguish whether the squid is old, you can look at its color. If it is light yellow and transparent, it is tender, and if it is purple and opaque, it is old. Under normal circumstances, the swelling rate of squid is between 400% and 600%.
