Blood sugar screening refers to a medical examination method for pregnancy-related diabetes. After all, this disease not only threatens the safety of pregnant women, but also threatens the life of the fetus. Therefore, it is recommended that every pregnant woman should do a blood sugar screening in time. How to do blood sugar screening and what should be paid attention to? Inspection process Generally, blood tests are performed at 24-28 weeks of pregnancy. Diabetes screening method: Fast for 12 hours before screening, dissolve 50 grams of glucose powder in 200 ml of water, drink it within 5 minutes, start timing from the first sip, and draw blood for blood sugar after 1 hour. A blood sugar value of ≥7.8mmol is considered abnormal in sugar screening and requires further glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Glucose tolerance test (OGTT) method: fast for 12 hours before the test, first draw blood for blood sugar, then add 150ml of 50% glucose injection to 100ml of water, or dissolve 75g of glucose powder in 300ml of water, drink it within 5 minutes, start timing from the first sip, draw blood for blood sugar after 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours, the normal value standard is: fasting 5.6mmol/L, 1 hour 10.3 mmol/L, 2 hours 8.6 mmol/L, 3 hours 6.7 mmol/L, among which 2 or more reach or exceed the normal value, it can be diagnosed as gestational diabetes, only 1 item is higher than the normal value, it is diagnosed as abnormal glucose tolerance. The most important thing is: you must drink the sugar water for more than an hour before drawing blood! Notes a. Reduce the intake of starch (pasta) and sugar two weeks before the examination. Eat as little staple food as possible, and the amount of staple food per meal should be less than 2 taels (i.e. eat less pasta, and the amount of staple food such as rice and flour should not exceed half a catty per day). It is best not to drink rice porridge in the morning, you can use milk instead. b. Avoid eating high-fat foods and try not to eat sugary foods. Sugary foods here refer to sweets, drinks, and even fruits that contain refined sugar and can be directly absorbed by the human body without any conversion, such as chocolate, cola, lychees, sugar cane, large amounts of watermelon, etc. c. Limit the amount of fruit, especially those with high sugar content (change fruits such as kiwi, cucumber, and tomato, which are not high in sugar. Eat them between meals). Do not eat eggs at dinner. d. Eat more vegetables, no less than 500 grams per day, to supplement vitamins and fiber. e. Drink plenty of water and exercise moderately. Take a walk after meals to consume excess sugar. |
