Blood vessel blockage: these wrong practices will make your situation worse

Everyone knows that blood vessels are important channels for the normal metabolism of the human body, just like the highways on the map. Without the highways, human development and progress will be hindered. So what kind of symptoms will appear when blood vessels are blocked?

Different diseases occur when different parts of the blood vessels are blocked

Blockage of blood vessels in the brain – stroke

After a stroke, you may suffer from paralysis, slurred speech, or even loss of mobility and become bedridden.

Heart disease is blocked - myocardial infarction

If the blockage is not serious, it may only affect the heart's ability to pump blood, but a severe heart attack can be fatal at any time.

The blood vessels in the legs are blocked - arteriosclerosis and occlusion

Severe arterial blockage may lead to ischemic necrosis of the legs and feet, or even require amputation. If a venous thrombus breaks off and enters the pulmonary blood vessels, it may cause pulmonary embolism.

Blockage of blood vessels in the lungs - pulmonary embolism

Pulmonary embolism is usually a very serious condition, and when the blood vessels are blocked too much, a person may suffocate to death.

Doctors have three tricks to save blood vessels

1. Make the blockage disappear - anticoagulation, thrombolysis, and thrombectomy

Things that block blood vessels are basically related to blood coagulation.

Anticoagulation can dissolve blood clots faster, and thrombolytic drugs work faster. Thrombectomy is to extend a small tube from the surface of the body along the blood vessel to the blocked area and then remove the embolus.

2. Open up narrow blood vessels

This is an interventional procedure, which is usually performed at the same time as thrombectomy. After the embolus is removed, a thin, long balloon or stent that can be folded like an umbrella is sent to the blocked area through a tube and then opened like an umbrella to pry open the blood vessel.

The difference between a balloon and a stent is that a balloon stretches the blood vessels and can be removed without leaving them in the blood vessels, while a stent needs to remain in the body to continue stretching the narrow blood vessels. In order to prevent the disease from recurring, some stents are coated with anti-blockage drugs.

3. Connect another blood vessel

Build a bridge.

This is an ultimate way, where a section of less important blood vessel is taken from other parts of the body to replace the function of the blocked blood vessel, thus establishing a new lifeline.

Prevention is the best cure

It is undeniable that treatments such as thrombolysis, stents, balloons, and bypass surgery can all have good therapeutic effects, but the best treatment is always prevention, which is to prevent blood vessel blockage.

We know that there is a lot of low-density lipoprotein in the blood. When low-density lipoprotein is oxidized, it becomes "oxidized low-density lipoprotein". Our body will regard this thing as a foreign component, and a large number of white blood cells will wrap and engulf it to form "foam cells". After the accumulation of foam cells, abscesses (also called atherosclerotic plaques) are formed on the blood vessel walls. When the auscultation bursts into the blood vessel cavity, it will cause coagulation, forming blood vessel blockage.

Therefore, preventing low-density lipoprotein from being oxidized is the key to curbing atherosclerosis. According to research, natural artemisinin is the strongest antioxidant in nature so far. It mainly prevents and reverses atherosclerosis by preventing low-density lipoprotein oxidation and increasing high-density lipoprotein, preventing blood vessel blockage before it starts.
