Do you have unbearable pain in your body? It could be a heart attack!

Arteries and veins are two types of blood circulation "paths" in the human body, just like two different lanes in a city. If there is a "traffic jam" in this lane, human health will definitely be affected, and even life-threatening. What are the symptoms of arterial embolism?

1. Pain

Most patients with acute arterial embolism complain of severe pain in the affected limb. The location of the pain depends mainly on the site of embolism. Generally, the pain is in the affected limb at a plane distal to the acute arterial embolism, and the pain worsens during activity. With the formation and extension of secondary thrombosis, the pain plane may develop proximally.

2. Numbness and movement disorders

Since the nervous tissue is very sensitive to ischemia, sensory and motor disorders will occur in the affected limb in the early stage of acute arterial embolism. The manifestation is that there is a stocking-shaped sensory loss area at the distal end of the affected limb, a sensory reduction area at the proximal end, and a sensory hypersensitivity area at the proximal end. The plane of the sensory reduction area is lower than the plane of arterial embolism. In addition, the affected limb has muscle weakness, paralysis, and varying degrees of limb droop. When muscle necrosis finally occurs and the motor function is completely lost, it indicates that the affected limb is about to undergo irreversible changes.

3. Pale, cold

Scattered purplish patches can be seen between pale skin. Severe ischemia of the limbs results in cold skin, especially at the extremities. It should be noted that the plane where the skin color and temperature of the affected limb change is usually one palm width to two joint planes lower than the embolism site.

4. Weakened or absent arterial pulse

Embolism and arterial spasm cause the arterial pulsation distal to the embolism plane to be significantly weakened or absent.
