The testicles are the reproductive organs of men that produce, store and secrete sperm. The testicles must be well protected. Once the testicles are enlarged, men must pay attention to it. Many men do not know the cause of testicular enlargement. What is it? What disease causes testicular enlargement? The causes of testicular enlargement are usually: 1. Acute orchitis. It often occurs in patients with urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, prostatectomy and long-term indwelling catheters. The infection spreads to the epididymis through the lymph or vas deferens, causing epididymal testitis. In severe cases, testicular abscess and testicular infarction may occur. The diagnosis is mainly based on clinical symptoms such as high fever, chills, testicular pain, scrotal redness, and edema. 2. Chronic orchitis. It is mostly caused by incomplete treatment of non-specific acute orchitis. It can also be caused by fungal, spirochetal, or parasitic infections. Pathologically, the testicles are enlarged or hardened and atrophied, the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules is hyalinized and degenerative, and the spermatogenic epithelial cells disappear. There may be hardening around the seminiferous tubules, and small hyperplastic foci may also form. 3. Testicular tumor . When testicular tumors cause testicular enlargement, it is generally not painful, sometimes just a bloated feeling. After a period of time, the testicular enlargement becomes firm and loses its elasticity. In the early stage, the testicular surface is smooth, but in the late stage, the nodules are uneven, necrotic, softened, and eroded, and then connected to the scrotal skin, making the scrotal surface dark red, accompanied by twisted and dilated blood vessels. 4. Epididymitis. Epididymitis is one of the common diseases in men's medicine. There are many reasons for epididymitis. When the body's resistance is low, pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus will take the opportunity to retrograde through the fallopian tube and invade the epididymis, causing inflammation. Therefore, epididymitis often leads to posterior urethritis, prostatitis, and seminal vesiculitis. The condition varies according to the physical condition of each person.
