What to do with bladder tumors? Three traditional treatments are the first choice

For patients with bladder tumors, if they are not treated in time, the condition may worsen. If it is a malignant tumor, the consequences will be disastrous. However, many patients say that there are so many treatment methods now that they don’t know how to choose. Today, the editor will tell you what is the preferred treatment method for bladder tumors?

Surgical treatment

Surgery is also a treatment for bladder cancer. The specific scope and method of bladder cancer surgery should be determined based on the stage, malignancy and pathological type of the bladder cancer tumor, as well as the size, location, and involvement of adjacent organs. However, surgical treatment can only remove the solid tumor visible to the naked eye, and cannot prevent the metastasis of bladder cancer cells, nor can it eliminate cancer cells in the blood in the body.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy for bladder cancer includes intravesical chemotherapy, systemic chemotherapy, and arterial chemotherapy. Intravesical chemotherapy is suitable for patients at all stages, especially for superficial tumors in stages 0-I. It cannot play a good therapeutic role on other lesions with deep infiltration, but it still has a therapeutic effect on superficial lesions. Systemic combined chemotherapy can increase the surgical resection rate and improve the comprehensive treatment effect of bladder cancer. Arterial chemotherapy is suitable for patients with advanced bladder cancer after partial cystectomy. As an adjuvant treatment, it can significantly improve the five-year survival rate of patients with advanced bladder cancer. This is also a common method for treating bladder cancer.

Radiation therapy

This is the main measure in the treatment of bladder cancer. Radiotherapy for bladder cancer is often carried out before or after surgery. For patients with advanced bladder cancer, those who have lost the opportunity for surgery or refuse surgery, and those who have relapsed after surgery, palliative radiotherapy can achieve certain therapeutic effects.
