When recanalizing after ligation surgery, you must remember the nursing precautions!

After a vasectomy, it means that the male's vas deferens is no longer unobstructed, but some men need to have their vas deferens recanalized for special reasons. Vasectomy recanalization is an important surgery to ensure that men can resume fertility, so after the surgery, you must learn how to take comprehensive care.

Vasectomy Postoperative Care

1. Use a T-belt to lift the scrotum after the operation.

2. Parts need to be protected to avoid moisture and contamination.

3. Use antibiotics to prevent infection.

4. Remove the rubber drainage strip on the second day after the operation.

5. Take 3 mg of diethylstilbestrol every night within 5 days after the operation to control genital impulses.

6. The skin sutures will be removed 5-6 days after the operation. If conventional surgical methods are used and there is support for the vas deferens, it will take 7-9 days to remove the support inside the vas deferens.

7. Have semen tests regularly.

Semen examinations are performed 1 month and 3 months after the operation. During the vas deferens anastomosis, semen often overflows from the vas deferens near the testicular end, but the sperm is often inactive. As the lumen is reopened, the internal pressure decreases, and the obstructive factors that inhibit spermatogenesis are eliminated, the number of sperm often gradually increases within 1-2 months after the operation. Generally, a new generation of sperm reappears at 3-6 months, and semen tends to be normal.

8. After the operation, you should rest in bed for 1 week and avoid walking too early.

It takes 8-10 days for the epithelium of the vas deferens anastomosis to grow. Walking too early will affect the activity of the scrotum and affect healing. Clinical observations have shown that the success rate of anastomosis is 67% for patients who walk within 7 days after surgery, and the success rate can rise to 83% for patients who walk after 7 days.
