How to diagnose varicocele? These symptoms can be self-checked

Varicopharyngitis is a common disease in men. It has a high incidence rate and usually occurs on the left side, but there are also patients with bilateral disease, with the latter having an incidence rate of up to 20%. Generally speaking, no matter what kind of disease it is, it can basically be diagnosed based on the symptoms it presents. So, what are the symptoms of varicocele?

1. Symptoms of male infertility

Many patients with no obvious symptoms only discover the presence of varicocele when they go to the hospital for examination after experiencing male infertility. And among patients with varicocele, about two-thirds will have semen abnormalities leading to male infertility.

2. Local swelling and pain

A typical symptom of varicocele is scrotal or testicular swelling, prolapse, and pain. In severe cases, swollen blood vessels can be palpated or seen in the scrotum. When the patient stands, the scrotum and testicle on the affected side are significantly lower than the healthy side, and dilated and tortuous veins can be seen on the surface of the scrotum. This is more obvious when standing for too long or exerting force on the abdomen. The symptoms can be alleviated or disappear on their own after lying down.

3. Symptoms of sexual dysfunction

Sexual dysfunction is a common symptom of patients with varicocele. Patients usually present with low libido, decreased sexual pleasure, dyspareunia, impotence, premature ejaculation, etc. With the gradual recovery of varicocele, the patient's sexual dysfunction and sexually transmitted diseases will also gradually ease.

4. Neurasthenia symptoms

After suffering from varicocele, patients often show symptoms of neurasthenia, such as headache, fatigue, insomnia and nightmares.
