Is it true that a man with a lot of beard means he is more capable?

Beards, as a secondary sexual characteristic of men, reflect the masculinity and mature beauty of men. In real life, some people believe that men with beards have strong sexual ability. Is there such an inevitable connection between beards and sexual function?

The first person to notice the relationship between beard growth and sex hormones was a Scottish man. He worked on a remote island in the Hebrides in western Scotland. Whenever he was about to meet his girlfriend, he would find that his beard was closely related to sex hormones.

The growth of beard is closely related to the secretion of male hormones. The more male hormones a person secretes, the longer his beard grows and the faster it grows. Traditional Chinese medicine has long recognized the relationship between beard and sexual function. This was pointed out in medical books more than 2,000 years ago: if the blood and qi are abundant, the beard will grow long, if the blood is less and the qi is more, the beard will be short, and if both the blood and qi are less, there will be no beard.

However, beard growth is also affected by another important factor, namely hair follicle receptors. The more hair follicle receptors there are, the more "luxuriant" the beard will grow.

Because of the existence of hair follicle receptors, men with high androgen secretion have different beard shapes. Those with more receptors have denser beards, while those with fewer receptors have sparser beards. However, the number of hair follicle receptors is affected by congenital factors. Unless there are special reasons such as trauma, the influence of hair follicle receptors on beards has tended to be stable since birth, while the influence of hormones can last a lifetime.

In other words, the thickness of a beard is mainly related to genetics, but the thickness and thinness of a person's beard at different stages is indeed related to androgen, and androgen is closely related to sexual function. It can be seen that the thickness and thinness of a person's beard at different stages is related to sexual function. However, it is unscientific to simply judge the strength of sexual function based on the amount of beard.
