The condyloma acuminatum fell off on its own

Condyloma acuminatum is a sexually transmitted disease and is contagious. If one spouse is diagnosed with condyloma acuminatum, the other spouse must receive treatment in order to fully recover. Generally, condyloma acuminatum is not easy to heal on its own without treatment. There are many ways to treat condyloma acuminatum, such as surgery, refrigeration, and laser. You should choose the appropriate treatment method according to your own condition and must seek early treatment.

Is it possible for condyloma acuminatum to disappear on its own?

In very rare cases, it will happen, but it is not easy to repair itself and it still needs to be fully healed.

Common treatments include:

Electrocautery. Suitable for large condyloma acuminatum with pedicles. When condyloma acuminatum grows in a cauliflower or wart shape, the base material often produces a pedicle. At this time, electrocautery is the ideal treatment method to cut the pedicle first. The remaining damage can be treated with refrigeration, laser or drugs.

Freezing with liquid nitrogen. Dip a cotton ball in liquid nitrogen and apply slight pressure to the wound for a few seconds. Repeat several times. Once a week, multiple treatments are usually required. Side effects include partial edema, which can last for several days.

Carbon dioxide laser. Suitable for cases with smaller warts. Condyloma acuminatum on the cervical or urethral opening of women cannot be treated with topical medication, so carbon dioxide laser surgery can be used.

Surgical treatment. Suitable for large condyloma acuminatum. Remove the main part of the wart surgically, and use some medicine or refrigeration techniques after the wound is repaired. Some patients have long foreskins, so circumcision is recommended.

Common symptoms of condyloma acuminatum:

The disease often has no active symptoms, but some patients may experience local pain or itching. The basic damage is initially fine dark red bumps of varying sizes, distributed singly or in groups, moist and soft, nipple-like, cockscomb-shaped or cauliflower-like protrusions, bright red or dark gray, with pedicles at the root, and easy to produce erosive exudate, easy to bleed when touched. Purulent secretions often accumulate in the gaps between skin lesions, causing a foul odor, and secondary infection is often caused by scratching. Due to continuous exposure to local moisture and chronic irritation, it usually grows rapidly. The disease often has no active symptoms, but some patients may experience local pain or itching. Sometimes it can turn into squamous carcinoma.

The duration of condyloma acuminatum:

The risk period of male condyloma acuminatum is 3 weeks to 8 months, with an average of 3 months. It is common in sexually active young and middle-aged men, with the peak age of onset being 20 to 25 years old. Male patients with a current history of 3 to 5 months will develop the disease soon after sexual intercourse, while male patients with an average current history of 12 months will not develop the disease during sexual intercourse. Subclinical infection refers to changes that cannot be seen by the human eye in clinical medicine, but 3% to 5% acetic acid solution can be applied externally or on the face for 5 to 10 minutes to see the HPV-infected area turn white, which is the so-called "acetic acid whitening phenomenon".
