Does obesity in general lead to infertility in men?

Nowadays, there are more and more obese people. Obesity brings us not only physical harm, but also mental damage. In particular, obesity can cause very serious complications, and more than one disease, such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar and other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Some patients may also feel that obesity causes their infertility, which is very painful. It is also a very important reason why male friends are infertile, so we must find a way to improve this situation.

In fact, obesity is one of the causes of male infertility. Clinically, obesity is also a cause of male infertility, and the mechanisms that cause male infertility are also multifaceted.

There are many reasons for this. Obesity has three main negative effects on male fertility. First, in areas with more peripheral adipose tissue, the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis is inhibited. Peripheral testosterone is converted into estrogen, leading to secondary hypogonadism. Second, oxidative stress in the microenvironment of the testicles leads to a decrease in sperm production and sperm damage. Third, overly obese men have fat accumulation in the pubic area and inner thighs, which increases the temperature of the scrotum and affects sperm production.

From this we can see that obesity is also a cause of male infertility, but this may be something that everyone has never expected. In the eyes of men, women who are too thin are more likely to cause infertility, but as can be seen from the above, men who are too fat can also lead to infertility. If these overweight men do not actively lose weight, male infertility may become a reality.

This is a question many men have. People may have heard that it is difficult for women who are too fat to have children, but they don’t know whether obesity will lead to male infertility. Although there are many reasons for male infertility, obesity is also the culprit of male infertility. Everyone must remember this because obesity is the easiest to be discovered.

Now that we know that male obesity can lead to infertility, we should try our best to avoid this situation in normal times. If we are too fat, we should actively lose weight, but we must adopt a healthier way of losing weight and not cause harm to our body. Otherwise, even if we lose weight, we will not be able to alleviate our infertility.
