What causes scrotal swelling and pain?

For men, once the scrotum becomes swollen and painful, it is very likely to be a dangerous sign, usually caused by a disease of the reproductive system. However, many male friends may not know the specific triggering factors, so I will explain it in detail below, hoping to help everyone solve the doubts about this symptom in the body.

1. Chronic prostatitis: The symptoms of chronic prostatitis are complex and varied, and are sometimes easily confused with simple neurasthenia. From the clinical manifestations, patients may have urethral irritation signs, frequent urination, urgency, urethral burning pain, mucus, sticky or purulent secretions in the urethra in the early morning, turbid urine or white liquid out of the urethra after defecation, discomfort in the posterior urethra, perineum and anus, sometimes pain in the penis, testicles and groin, sometimes unilateral testicular pain, or bilateral pain, accompanied by ejaculation pain, hematospermia, premature ejaculation, impotence, as well as symptoms of autonomic nervous system dysfunction such as fatigue, dizziness, insomnia and depression.

2. Epididymitis: The scrotum on the affected side is swollen and painful, and there is a feeling of heaviness. There is pulling pain in the lower abdomen and groin, which is aggravated when standing or walking. The epididymis on the affected side is enlarged and there is obvious tenderness. When the inflammation is large, both the epididymis and testicles are swollen, and the boundary between the two is unclear, which is called epididymo-orchitis. The spermatic cord on the affected side is thickened and there is also tenderness.

3. Orchitis: Patients often experience testicular pain that radiates to the groin, with a distinct feeling of falling, accompanied by high fever, nausea, vomiting, elevated white blood cells, etc. At the same time, the testicles are enlarged and tender, and the scrotal skin is red and swollen. Once a man finds this condition, he needs to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time.

Generally speaking, the three diseases mentioned in the above article may cause men to have symptoms of scrotal swelling and pain, and they all seem to be relatively serious. Therefore, the editor would like to remind all male friends to pay attention to observe their own abnormal reactions so that they can receive effective treatment as soon as possible after the onset of the disease.
