What's the matter with a pimple under the glans?

Men's reproductive organs are different from women's, so they are more vulnerable to external injuries. Especially during exercise or work, men's reproductive organs are likely to be injured, and if the injury is serious, the reproductive organs will lose their original function, which is a very serious situation. In life, some men find a lump under their glans. What's going on?

(1) Proliferative erythema

Clinical manifestations: single or multiple erythema on the glans penis, which may be round, annular or irregular, with clear borders, slightly high and hard, and shiny surface. Sometimes there may be erosion, crusting or papillary hyperplasia. The disease may remain unchanged for many years, or it may become cancerous.

The cause of erythema proliferatum is unknown, but it mainly occurs in people with prepuce that is too long, so it is believed to be related to prepuce that is too long and smegma irritation. Therefore, people with this disease should have their foreskin removed regularly. There is no definite opinion on the treatment of erythema proliferatum. Some scholars advocate for foreskin removal and close observation; some doctors advocate freezing or irradiating the lesion with X-rays.

(2) Vascular edema

Like urticaria, it is an acute allergic reaction of the glans penis to food, medicine or insect bites. This disease can occur only on the glans penis, or it can occur at the same time as urticaria. Children are prone to glans edema, which is manifested by the foreskin at the glans penis being highly swollen and shiny, like a large blister. However, it does not affect urination. This disease often occurs at night, with no obvious itching and no general discomfort, and can disappear on its own after a few days.

The diagnosis and treatment of glans foreskin vascular edema is simple and easy. The local area should be kept clean and dry. If necessary, 1:1000 gentamicin can be used to gently wipe the affected area. Patients with systemic urticaria can be treated with oral pheniramine and diphenhydramine, but the medication must be used under the guidance of a doctor.

(3) Tuberculosis

Clinical manifestations: small red bumps (papules) are seen on the glans penis, which are painless and itchy and progress very slowly. Sometimes they rupture to form small round ulcers without pus, which can gradually heal with scarring. Sometimes they may be combined with skin tuberculosis, which manifests as multiple rashes on the limbs, back, head and neck, which are easily misdiagnosed as acne, folliculitis or cysts. The rashes come and go and can be absorbed by themselves, but each rash generally takes about 20-30 days to heal.

Tuberculosis rash on the glans penis can be diagnosed based on the characteristics of the rash, the patient's history of tuberculosis or tuberculosis contact, and typical rashes in other parts of the body. It should be pointed out that tuberculosis rash is an allergic reaction of the skin to tuberculosis lesions in other parts of the body, and the lesions themselves do not contain Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis rash should be treated with oral anti-tuberculosis drugs. Patients should not treat themselves privately and should ask doctors for guidance on medication.

(4) It is caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. It usually occurs in patients who have undergone circumcision. The glans penis is red and shiny, with small pustules or papules on the surface. You can take clotrimazole or ketoconazole, and apply clotrimazole ointment to the affected area.

It is recommended that men clean their glans with clean water every day, including the gaps and folds of the foreskin, so as not to leave some bacteria and dirt, causing unnecessary trouble. In addition, no matter what kind of abnormality occurs in the genitals, you need to go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible to ensure the health of your reproductive organs.
