Why do men feel pain when urinating?

Urinary system symptoms can manifest in many ways, and painful urination is a very common symptom. In today's society, many boys have urinary system diseases, and they are generally caused by irregular and unhealthy lifestyles. So what exactly is painful urination? The following editor will tell you the reasons, and male friends should pay attention.

Dysuria refers to pain in the urethra, bladder and perineum when urinating. The pain can be mild or severe, often with a burning sensation, or as sharp as a knife. Dysuria may be caused by an infection of the urinary system. For men, dysuria is more likely to be caused by an infection of the prostate.

If you have pain when urinating, you should check your urine. If there is obvious blood in the urine, it may be a serious urinary tract infection. Painful urination is common in urethritis, prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, seminal vesiculitis, cystitis, urinary tract stones, bladder tuberculosis, pyelonephritis, etc.

According to the characteristics of the urethral pain during urination, it can be divided into six categories for diagnosis:

1. If there is obvious pain at the end of urination, pain still exists after urination, or a feeling of "empty pain", or pain occurs even without urination, the disease is mostly in the urethra or adjacent organs, such as trigone inflammation, prostatitis, etc.

2. Sudden interruption of urination with pain or urinary retention: seen in bladder, urethral stones or urinary tract foreign bodies

3. Difficult urination accompanied by bloating and pain: This often indicates prostate hyperplasia in elderly men and may also be seen in urethral stones.

4. Stinging or burning pain during urination: often seen in acute inflammatory stimulation, such as acute urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, and pyelonephritis.

5. Pain at the end of urination and urgency are common in patients with acute cystitis.

6. If there is obvious pain at the beginning of urination or dysuria, the lesions are mostly in the urethra, which is common in acute urethritis.

Although painful urination is only a minor symptom, it is caused by many factors. The specific situation requires a check-up at the hospital to determine the cause. If you have painful urination, do not ignore it. The biggest feature of male urethritis is that it can easily become chronic, and severe cases can cause chronic renal failure.
