What causes frequent urination in men?

Adults usually urinate four to six times during the day and no more than twice at night. Some people may not even urinate at all. These are all normal phenomena. However, if you urinate too often, it is called frequent urination. Frequent urination means that you cannot wait to urinate. So what is the reason for frequent urination in men?

1. Increased urine volume: When urine volume increases, the frequency of urination will also increase accordingly. Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a lot of water, eating watermelon, and drinking beer, due to the increase in water intake, through the regulation and filtering function of the kidney, the urine volume increases, the frequency of urination also increases, and frequent urination occurs. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes and diabetes insipidus who drink a lot of water, have a lot of urine, and urinate a lot. But they do not feel any discomfort when urinating.

2. Inflammatory stimulation: When there is inflammation in the bladder, the nerve receptor threshold is lowered, the urinary center is in an excited state, resulting in frequent urination and reduced urine volume (<300-500 ml/time for adults). Therefore, frequent urination is an important symptom of cystitis, especially acute cystitis and tuberculous cystitis. Others, such as prostatitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, chronic pediatric glans dermatitis, vulvitis, etc., can also cause frequent urination. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency, and pain often occur at the same time, which is called urinary tract irritation sign, commonly known as "tri-urination sign".

3. Non-inflammatory irritation: such as urinary tract stones and foreign bodies, usually with frequent urination as the main manifestation.

4. Decreased bladder capacity: such as bladder space-occupying lesions, pressure from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contractions, or larger bladder stones.

5. Psychoneural urinary frequency: Frequent urination only occurs during the day or before going to sleep at night, often due to mental tension or hysteria. It may also be accompanied by urinary urgency and pain.

The above are the causes of frequent urination. I believe we already understand what causes frequent urination. In this way, we can prescribe the right medicine to treat it as soon as possible and return to normal urination as soon as possible. However, it is best for us to go to some more formal hospitals for treatment, which is more guaranteed.
