Many men are troubled by the problem of genital warts. After discovering some red bumps on themselves, they are very afraid that they have genital warts. However, there is a kind of pseudo-genital warts that men are not very clear about. They don’t know whether pseudo-genital warts are serious or whether they need treatment. Therefore, the most important thing is to distinguish pseudo-genital warts. Let me explain to you how to distinguish them. First of all, we need to distinguish pseudocondyloma acuminatum from condyloma acuminatum: Condyloma acuminatum is caused by human papillomavirus infection and is a common sexually transmitted disease in my country. The annual growth rate exceeds 100%, ranking first among all STDs. In men, it is more common in the coronal sulcus, glans penis, foreskin, frenulum, urethral opening, and a few in the penis body. In homosexuals, it can occur in the perianal area and rectum. In women, it is more common in the vulva, vagina, cervix, perianal area, etc. Genital warts are initially pink or dirty red millet-sized warts that are soft in nature and slightly pointed at the top. They gradually grow larger or increase in number. They can develop into papillary or cystic shapes, with a slightly wide base or bands and granules on the surface. They often grow larger in the anus, resembling cauliflower, with a moist surface or bleeding. Pus often accumulates between the granules, emitting a foul odor, and can be secondary infected after scratching. Genital warts located in low-humidity, dry areas are small and flat wart-like. Warts located in hot, humid areas often appear filamentous or papilloma-like and easily fuse into large masses. Pseudocondyloma acuminatum is more common in young women aged 18-40, with an incidence rate of about 16-18%. Clinical manifestations are 1-2 mm papules, light red, clustered and not fused; smooth, roe-like or velvety, granular to the touch; distributed on the inner side of the labia minora or the vestibule of the vagina. Generally, there are no conscious symptoms or only mild itching. Many patients often mistake pseudo-warts and condyloma acuminatum, which can have some adverse effects. However, experts suggest that no matter when you find yourself with these symptoms, you should go to a regular hospital for examination in time. This way, the examination results will be more accurate and will not delay the disease. |
