What causes yellow semen and a strange odor?

In daily life, many male friends are under increasing pressure from work, and their bodies are often affected by many physical conditions. For example, some friends have yellow semen with a strange smell. In fact, perhaps this phenomenon is normal, but what exactly causes it? Let us find out what is going on.

What causes yellow semen and a strange smell?

The special smell of male ejaculated semen is a common phenomenon. It is very necessary for you to go to the hospital for a sperm test. Some people feel disgusted with this smell, saying it is extremely unpleasant; some people think it is fragrant, saying it is refreshing and exciting. These two completely opposite feelings are closely related to physiological and psychological factors such as the level of sexual desire of both parties, the depth of spiritual and physical integration, and the attitude towards sexual behavior.

Semen, like saliva, gastrointestinal fluid, and blood, is a body fluid, but only semen has a distinctive smell. Semen is not as simple as other body fluids; it is a mixed fluid. In addition to sperm, other seminal components of semen are composed of prostatic fluid, epididymal fluid, seminal vesicle fluid, and various secretions from the urethra and vas deferens. The normal smell is emitted after oxidation of a chemical called spermine, which is very similar to the smell of chestnut flowers. Spermine is one of the many important components contained in prostate secretions. The oxidation of spermine must involve the participation of seminal vesicle fluid. Prostatic fluid obtained through rectal massage generally does not have the smell of naturally ejaculated semen. It can be seen that the special smell of normal semen comes from the prostate, but it is emitted with the participation of seminal vesicle fluid. The lack of this odor in semen often indicates prostate dysfunction. Many prostate patients often do not smell this odor in their semen. As for the physiological significance of the special odor of semen, it is speculated that it may be related to sexual desire and sexual behavior.

From the above we have learned that semen is yellow and has a strange smell. In fact, this is because we usually do not pay attention to our bodies. In addition, the smell of semen is very special and cannot be smelled normally. If it appears, then it means there is a problem with the prostate.
