Introduction to Male Urethra Length

Introduction to Male Urethra Length

The urethra is a very important channel for male friends. Through this urethra, men have two physiological functions, urination and ejaculation. The urethra of male adults is wider. We must pay attention to our physical health in daily life, take good care of our urethra health, and avoid bacterial infection. Especially in the hot summer climate, the infected patients may have symptoms of frequent urination and painful urination.

The prostatic part is the part of the urethra that passes through the prostate. The lumen is the widest and is about 2.5 cm long. There is a longitudinal bulge on the back wall, called the urethral ridge. The bulge in the middle of the ridge is called the spermatophore. There is a small depression in the center of the spermatophore, called the prostatic capsule. There are small ejaculatory duct openings on both sides of it. There are many openings of the prostatic excretory ducts on the urethral mucosa on both sides of the spermatophore.

The membranous part is the part of the urethra that passes through the urogenital diaphragm. It is surrounded by the urethral sphincter, which belongs to the citrate muscle. The membranous part has a narrow lumen and is the shortest of the three parts, with an average length of 1.2 cm. The position of this part is relatively fixed.

The cavernous part is the part of the urethra that passes through the cavernous body. The urethra is widest inside the bulbus urethra, which is called the bulbus urethra. The bulbus urethral glands open here. The urethra inside the glans penis expands into the navicula fossa of urethra. There are many mucous glands in the submucosal layer of the urethra, called urethral glands. Their excretory ducts open in the urethral mucosa.

The urethra varies in diameter, with three narrowings, three dilations, and two bends. The three narrowings are: the internal urethral opening, the membranous part, and the external urethral opening. The three dilations are: the prostatic part, the bulbar part, and the fossa navicularis. One bend is the inferior pubic bend, which is 2 cm below the pubic symphysis, with the concave surface facing upward, and includes the prostatic part, the membranous part, and the beginning of the corpus cavernosum. This bend is constant and does not change. The other bend is the anterior pubic bend, which is located in the front and lower part of the pubic symphysis, with the concave surface facing downward, and is located between the root and body of the penis. This bend can disappear if the penis is lifted upward. This position is adopted when inserting a catheter or instrument into the male urethra.

The male urethra is a little longer than the female urethra, and is relatively far from the anus, so it is not easy to be infected by bacteria. However, it is easy to sweat in the hot summer. At this time, we must clean our skin regularly to ensure the health of our reproductive organs and prevent the occurrence of reproductive diseases.
