Self-treatment methods for enlarged prostate

Self-treatment methods for enlarged prostate

Nowadays, the pressure of fast-paced life makes our physical health worse than before. Various diseases are breeding, and the incidence of many diseases has doubled. Many young people now have the problem of young people's enlarged prostate. This problem has brought great impact on our young people's body and mind. It affects our young people's physical health and also leads to unhealthy development of the mind because of this unspeakable problem. Therefore, it is urgent to find active and effective treatment methods. So what are the good ways to treat the disease of prostate enlargement? Let's learn about it together.

Treatment:

The harmfulness of prostatic hyperplasia lies in the pathological and physiological changes caused by lower urinary tract obstruction. The pathological individual differences are very large, and not all of them are progressive. Some lesions will no longer develop after reaching a certain degree, so even if mild obstruction symptoms occur, surgery is not always required.

1. Observe and wait

If the symptoms are mild and the IPSS score is below 7, the condition can be observed and no treatment is required.

2. Drug treatment

(1) 5α-reductase inhibitors Studies have shown that 5α-reductase is an important enzyme for the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. Dihydrotestosterone plays a certain role in prostate hyperplasia, so the use of 5α-reductase inhibitors can inhibit hyperplasia to a certain extent.

(2) α-receptor blockers: It is currently believed that this type of drug can improve urinary tract dynamic obstruction, reduce resistance and thus improve symptoms. Commonly used drugs include Gotelin, etc.

(3) The most widely used anti-androgen drugs are progesterone drugs. They can inhibit the cellular binding and nuclear uptake of androgens, or inhibit 5α-reductase and interfere with the formation of dihydrotestosterone. Progesterone drugs include megestrol acetate, cyproterone acetate, chlormadinone acetate, and progesterone caproate. Flubutamide is a non-steroidal anti-androgen drug that can also interfere with the cellular uptake and nuclear binding of androgens. After using anti-androgen drugs for a period of time, symptoms and urine flow rate can be improved, residual urine can be reduced, and the prostate can be reduced. However, after stopping the drug, the prostate will enlarge again and symptoms will recur. In recent years, it has been found that this type of drug can increase blood viscosity and increase the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular embolism. Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogs have a highly selective effect on the pituitary gland, causing it to release LH and FSH. Long-term use can exhaust this function of the pituitary gland, reduce the ability of the testicles to produce testosterone, or even make it impossible to produce testosterone, thus achieving the effect of drug removal of the testes.

(4) Others include M receptor antagonists, herbal preparations, and traditional Chinese medicine. M receptor antagonists block bladder M receptors, relieve excessive detrusor contraction, and reduce bladder sensitivity, thereby improving the urinary symptoms of BPH patients. Herbal preparations such as Prosperide are suitable for the treatment of BPH and related lower urinary tract symptoms.

In summary, a comprehensive assessment of the condition should be made before drug treatment, and the side effects of the drugs and the possibility of long-term medication should also be fully considered. Long-term follow-up should be conducted to observe the effects of drug treatment, and urodynamic tests should be performed regularly to avoid delaying the timing of surgery.

3.Surgery

Surgery remains an important treatment for prostate hyperplasia.

Indications for surgery are:

① Symptoms of lower urinary tract obstruction, obvious changes in urodynamics, or residual urine volume of more than 60 ml;

②Severe symptoms of unstable bladder;

③ It has caused upper urinary tract obstruction and kidney function damage;

④ Multiple episodes of acute urinary retention, urinary tract infection, and gross hematuria;

⑤ Patients with concurrent bladder stones. For patients with long-term urinary tract obstruction, obvious renal function damage, severe urinary tract infection or acute urinary retention, a urinary catheter should be placed first to relieve the obstruction, and surgery should be performed after the infection is controlled and renal function is restored. If it is difficult to insert the urinary catheter or the long intubation time has caused urethritis, suprapubic bladder puncture and fistula can be performed instead. The indications for emergency prostatectomy should be strictly controlled.

4.Minimally invasive treatment

(1) Transurethral electrovaporization of the prostate is mainly an innovation in electrode metal materials, which makes its biological thermal effect different from the former. Due to the rapid thermal conversion, it can produce a high temperature of 400°C, which quickly causes tissue vaporization or coagulative necrosis. Its hemostatic characteristics are extremely significant. Therefore, clinical applications show:

① Increased indications: It can be performed on glands weighing more than 60g.

② Clear surgical field: Due to the significant hemostatic effect and clear flushing fluid, the operation is convenient.

③ Reduced operation time: Since the hemostasis step is reduced, the surgical resection is accelerated and the operation time is shortened.

④ Fewer complications: water intoxication is less likely to occur (thick coagulation layer), clear surgical field reduces accidental injuries, and sphincter and capsule damage is less likely to occur.

⑤Fast recovery after surgery: Shortened flushing time.

The above content introduces us to the problem of self-treatment of prostate hypertrophy. Our young people should not deliberately avoid it just because the prostate involves privacy issues. We should actively seek effective treatment methods to solve our own prostate problems as soon as possible. You can use the above methods. Finally, I wish you all a speedy recovery of your health.
