The reason why men suddenly lose sperm at 40

The reason why men suddenly lose sperm at 40

Clinical medical work has found that in recent years, the quality of human sperm has been declining due to the influence of the natural environment, environmental pollution of estrogen-like harmful substances and other factors. There are many factors that cause oligospermia, inflammation, drug effects; alcoholism, excessive smoking, and methamphetamine can inhibit sperm production; prostatitis, varicose veins, etc. can inhibit sperm production. The actual situation is as follows:

1. Endocrine abnormalities

Normal spermatogenesis in men depends on the normal function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis. Any obstruction at any stage will affect spermatogenesis. Other diseases such as thyroid cysts and adrenal diseases will also affect the position and function of the prostate and lead to oligospermia.

2. Cryptorchidism

Scientific research reports show that 30% to 60% of patients with unilateral cryptorchidism suffer from infertility, while 50% to 100% of patients with bilateral cryptorchidism suffer from infertility. Among oligospermia patients, cryptorchidism accounts for about 9%. In addition to the decline of the seminiferous tubules that affects spermatogenesis, cryptorchidism itself may also have different levels of harm to male testicles that are completely reduced on the other side. The reason may be that the anti-sperm antibodies caused by cryptorchidism affect normal testicles.

3. Urinary tract inflammation

Including orchitis, epididymitis, seminal vesiculitis, prostatitis, urethritis, etc. This type of patients accounts for the largest proportion in oligospermia. Inflammation of the urogenital system can directly affect the spermatogenesis of male testicles, and can also produce antisperm antibodies in the blood or semen, affecting the pH of semen, and the direct destructive effect of pathogens on sperm can lead to a decrease in sperm.

4. Varicose vein

Infertility caused by varicose veins accounts for 30% to 40% of male infertility. Due to factors such as increased testicular temperature and endotoxin deposition, the spermatogenesis of male testicles is affected, resulting in oligospermia, and more severe cases can lead to azoospermia. The initial symptoms of varicose veins are not obvious, but in severe cases, there may be pain in the scrotum and worm-like blood vessels on the upper part. Sperm tests show that the sperm density is reduced, the motility is poor, and the number of sperm abnormalities increases.

5. Scrotal temperature is too high

The seminiferous tubules in the male testicles that are specialized in producing sperm are very sensitive to temperature changes. The suitable temperature of this location is 2-3℃ lower than the human body temperature. Too high a temperature can easily inhibit the survival and maturation of sperm, resulting in a decrease in sperm density or reduced activity in the semen. Therefore, male friends should wear less tight pants, take fewer saunas, avoid electromagnetic radiation and high temperatures, and cultivate a good lifestyle.
