Causes and treatments of gynecomastia

Causes and treatments of gynecomastia

There are many common diseases among men. Prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, and prostatic enlargement are all reproductive diseases that men are prone to. These diseases have a great impact on men's lives, and after suffering from such diseases, men need timely treatment, otherwise the disease will continue to develop and the treatment will become very complicated. So what are the causes and treatments of male breast development? Let's introduce them in detail below.

Causes and treatments of gynecomastia:

Gynecomastia is also known as male breast hypertrophy. Due to its typical symptoms, the diagnosis is very obvious. Pathologically, it only has duct hyperplasia but no alveolar hyperplasia. It is mostly unilateral but can also be bilateral.

(I) The cause of this disease is generally believed to be related to hormonal imbalance in the body. 1. Decrease in male hormones: such as incomplete testicular development or testicular insufficiency due to testicular trauma, tumors, etc.

2. Increased estrogen: Impairment of estrogen inactivation in the liver due to liver damage or B vitamin deficiency.

3. Long-term use of estrogen drugs.

(ii) Treatment:

1. If it is caused by taking medicine, generally no treatment is required and it will gradually disappear after stopping the medicine.

2. Use the “Rupiyu” series of medicines for combined oral and external treatment.

3. For those with excessive hypertrophy, surgical removal is performed while preserving the tumor nipple.

Check

1. Laboratory inspection

(1) Measurement of sex hormones and gonadotropins. It helps to diagnose whether there is primary or secondary testicular hypofunction.

(2) Liver and kidney function tests. Helps diagnose liver and kidney failure.

(3) Measurement of cortisol, ACTH, 17-OHP, 17-ketosteroids and 17-ketogenic steroids. It can be used to evaluate congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

2. Other auxiliary examinations

(1) Breast ultrasound and mammography. They can distinguish between fat and breast tissue and rule out breast cancer in a timely manner.

(2) Pathological examination of breast tissue for further diagnosis.

By understanding the causes and treatments of gynecomastia, men should follow the above treatment methods after suffering from this disease. At the same time, they should also choose the above methods for examination. This way, they will have a good understanding of the condition and can clearly choose the treatment method during treatment, which is conducive to the stabilization of the disease.
