Male pseudowarts refer to a group of skin and mucous membrane lesions that occur in the male external genitalia and are easily confused with condyloma acuminatum. This group of lesions mainly includes penile pearly papules and parafrenulum papules.

Pearly penile papules, also known as pearly penile papules, hairy penile papilloma, coronal sulcus or glans papules, are also called hairy penis or multi-papillary penis. Currently, pearly penile papules are generally considered to be a symptom rather than a disease. The cause and pathogenesis of this symptom are still unclear. Some people think it is an abnormality of physiological development. Others think it is related to excessive foreskin. Excessive foreskin, poor local hygiene, long-term stimulation of coronal sulcus secretions and dirt, or other inflammation such as local redness and swelling caused by infection may be the direct cause of this symptom. Pearly penile papules mainly occur at the junction of the edge of the glans and the coronal sulcus. The lesions are 1-3mm papules with round and smooth tops, some of which may be hairy or filamentous. Most papules do not fuse, and may be densely arranged in one or more rows, and may partially or completely surround the glans. The color of the lesions is mostly pearly white, and a few are light red or skin-colored. Mild redness and swelling may occur when accompanied by inflammation. The lesions do not cause discomfort such as itching or pain. The lesions do not require special treatment. If the patient insists on treatment, laser surgery can be used to remove them, but if the causative factors exist, they will often recur.

Parafrenulum papules, also known as parafrenulum papular fibroma, are also considered by some to be parafrenulum gland hyperplasia. In view of the fact that this lesion often occurs with penile pearly papules and its clinical characteristics, it can be regarded as penile pearly papules. The cause of parafrenulum papules is unknown, and the other causes are the same as those of penile pearly papules. This lesion occurs on both sides of the penile frenulum, and most of them are symmetrical, with 1-5 on each side. The lesions are papules ranging in size from millet to half a grain of rice, with a smooth surface. There are no subjective symptoms. Parafrenulum papules will not cause local or systemic health problems, so no treatment is required. Maintaining local cleanliness and hygiene is helpful in preventing the lesion from worsening or infection.
