Will penile edema go away on its own?

Penile edema refers to the fact that part of the vein is cut off after circumcision surgery. It takes a whole process to create a complete venous channel. In other words, the current edema is caused by the swelling of part of the blood and tissue fluid due to the failure of part of the venous system to recover. Penile edema is one of the possible complications and is more common among young men. So will penile edema clear up by itself?

If it is penile edema after circumcision, it usually recovers in about half a month. You can take antiviral drugs and blood-activating, blood-stasis-removing, anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs appropriately for treatment. Be careful to avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. If penile circumcision surgery is not performed, then you should pay attention to cultivating good living habits, clean the wound frequently, keep the area clean, be careful to avoid excessive masturbation, have a controlled sex life, do not smoke or drink, and wear loose and comfortable underwear.

What should you pay attention to after circumcision surgery:

1. Before wound repair, regular check-up and follow-up visits should be performed.

2. The wound should be kept clean and dry after surgery, and be careful not to wet the gauze when urinating.

3. The wound is sutured with digestible and absorbable sutures, so there is no need for surgical removal of sutures.

4. If the penis is erect, please use one hand to protect the wound and use the other hand to pinch the glans penis to prevent the wound from cracking.

5. If the wound is swollen, painful and bleeding, you can apply partial ice compress to stimulate blood circulation; if the bleeding is severe, you should go to the hospital for medical treatment first.

6. Prepare a few extra pairs of underwear in advance and change them frequently (or buy wash-free underwear), because tissue fluid will seep out and dirty the underwear during the repair period.

If penile edema is not treated in time, it will harm the health of the urinary system. Balanitis can easily lead to inflammation of organs such as prostatitis, orchitis, epididymitis and ejaculatory duct. If it is not treated promptly and effectively, the infection will be combined, causing great damage to reproductive health. The same injury also causes erectile dysfunction.
