9 Sleep Disorders in Men That Should Not Be Taken Seriously

In life and work, if the quality of sleep is not good, it will easily affect the next day's work efficiency. Severe cases will have a great impact on the psychological and physiological aspects. Insomnia can be said to be one of the most common troubles of modern people. It does not seem to be a disease, but it actually brings great trouble to insomniacs.

1. Snoring

When the nose is blocked, the sound will be emitted from deep in the nose; if the throat is blocked, the sound will be emitted from deep in the throat. Although we do not have demographic analysis of snoring and non-snoring, it is said that Japanese people have shorter chins, so they are more likely to snore.

2. Grinding teeth

It is not just for couples. I think many people have experienced being unable to sleep because of their companions' grinding teeth when they are sharing a room with others during employee travel or business trips. In fact, most people should grind their teeth, but if they grind their teeth frequently or for more than 30 minutes, they must seek help from experts. Because grinding teeth not only causes tooth wear and tear, but also causes periodontal disease or mandibular joint pain.

3. Sleep paralysis

Waking up suddenly in the middle of sleep, with the body becoming stiff and unable to make any sound - this state of being unable to move and being helpless is usually called "sleep paralysis". This phenomenon occurs because the body is still asleep, but the brain is already awake. Medically, this phenomenon is called "sleep paralysis", and it can also be speculated that this is "the state of waking up suddenly during rapid eye movement sleep".

4. Get cold while sleeping

When you suddenly feel cold and painful in your abdomen while sleeping, you have a cold. People generally call this "catching a cold while sleeping". Everyone will probably experience it once or twice in their life. In fact, catching a cold while sleeping is caused by the difference in body temperature when sleeping and awake.

5. Insomnia

Although we use "insomnia" to refer to various insomnia symptoms, the treatment methods vary according to the different symptoms, causes and main diseases of insomnia. The cause of insomnia is mostly due to inner anxiety, so the general solution is to relieve the patient's anxiety and give sleep inducers to relieve anxiety, or sleeping pills to improve sleep quality, and then observe the improvement of insomnia.

6. Lethargy

The symptom of "narcolepsy" is also sleepiness, but it is different from "sleeping sickness". Checking the patient's brain waves will find that the patient has no breathing disorder during sleep and the brain waves are also in a normal pattern. However, as soon as it is daytime, they will be very sleepy and cannot help it. The cause of "narcolepsy" is still unclear. However, among patients who complain of "always feeling very sleepy", the rate of suffering from "narcolepsy" is about 10%.

7. Apnea syndrome

A disease in which breathing stops during sleep due to airway obstruction. Symptoms include snoring, headaches when waking up, and daytime sleepiness or fatigue. It can also cause complications such as high blood pressure or cerebral infarction. In addition, daytime sleepiness may cause traffic accidents or accidents such as arms being caught by machines at work.

8. Sudden sleep

If the frequency of sleep paralysis is too high, you should also suspect the possibility of narcolepsy. This disease is a difficult-to-treat disease caused by genetic abnormalities of neurons. Its symptoms include sleep disorders at night and the accompanying excessive sleep (always wanting to sleep during the day), cataplexy (sudden paralysis of part or all of the body's muscles, such as the sudden drop of bowls and chopsticks while eating, and sudden weakness in the limbs while driving and falling asleep), hallucinations when falling asleep, etc. In addition, sleep paralysis is also an obvious symptom.

9. Stroke during sleep

The terrible cerebral infarction often occurs during sleep, and treatment is urgent. Therefore, if family members repeatedly experience symptoms such as arteriosclerosis or transient cerebral ischemia7, cerebral infarction is very likely to occur. Therefore, it is necessary to know the symptoms of cerebral infarction during sleep in advance so as to respond in time.
