What are the effects of prostatitis?

Speaking of prostatitis, I believe many male friends are familiar with it, because many men have suffered from it, or many men are still suffering from it. To be honest, prostatitis is a disease that can be cured, but the treatment process is very long. There are many drugs on the market to treat prostatitis, but the effects are different and vary from person to person.

Although prostatitis is a common male disease, many men only have a limited understanding of it, which makes the disease difficult to treat. Let's talk about the impact that prostatitis may have on a man's life and on himself and his family.

Prostatitis is a common disease in urology. Among male urology patients, those under 50 years old account for the largest proportion. Prostatitis is divided into four categories and five types, namely acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, chronic pelvic pain syndrome (inflammatory and non-inflammatory), and asymptomatic prostatitis. Among them, non-bacterial prostatitis is far more common than bacterial prostatitis.

Only a few patients have an acute history, and most of them present with chronic and recurrent symptoms. Pathogens are mostly enteric pathogens, and only about 20% of patients are found to have bacteria in routine bacteriological examinations. Recent studies have shown that urodynamic examinations of patients with prostatitis reveal increased posterior urethral pressure, and that symptoms are alleviated or disappear after oral administration of α-adrenaline receptor antagonists, indicating that the ability of the posterior urethral smooth muscle of the prostate is increased, causing urine turbulence and urine reflux into the prostate. The uric acid in the urine produces chemical stimulation, causing pain.

There are many effects of prostatitis:

1. Cause sexual dysfunction. Prostatitis, especially chronic prostatitis, can easily lead to impotence and premature ejaculation.

2. Harming normal life. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, a series of symptoms are produced, such as swelling and pain in the lumbar sacral area, perineum, testicles, incomplete urination, frequent urination at night, etc., which greatly affect work and life.

3. Affecting fertility and causing male infertility. Long-term chronic inflammation changes the composition of prostatic fluid, affecting the secretory function of the prostate, which in turn affects the liquefaction time of semen and reduces sperm motility, which can lead to male infertility.

4. Cause gynecological inflammation. Prostatitis can be transmitted to women, and its inflammation can be transmitted to wives through sexual intercourse, such as fungal prostatitis, trichomonas prostatitis, gonorrhea prostatitis, non-gonococcal (chlamydia, mycoplasma) prostatitis, etc.

5. Cause endocrine disorders. Prostate inflammation can cause endocrine disorders, resulting in insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, slow thinking, memory loss, etc.

6. It can cause a variety of diseases, including prostate hyperplasia and other diseases.

Through the above introduction, I believe that many male friends no longer have only a superficial understanding of prostatitis, and should have a certain degree of understanding. With the understanding of prostatitis, it will be more convenient for us to treat prostatitis for friends or ourselves in the future. If you have prostatitis, the first thing to do is not to worry and be afraid too much, but to trust doctors and medicine, so that you can cure it as soon as possible and restore your health.
