3. Recurrent episodes of candidal balanitis can cause foreskin cracking, fibrosis and sclerosis.

4. When the scrotum is affected, a scaly, erythematous rash may be seen on the contact surface with the penis, with obvious itching. When the urethra is affected, frequent and urgent urination may occur.

5. Before treatment, examination can reveal that Candida can be cultured from local secretions under a fungus microscope.
