What is urethral itching in boys?

The most common cause of male urethral itching is urinary tract infection, such as urethral itching caused by infection with bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, fungus, trichomonas, etc. Most of these cases are relatively mild urethritis. Some patients can be cured by drinking more water and urinating frequently.

If the symptoms do not improve or even worsen, timely anti-inflammatory treatment is required. Oral antibiotics can be taken, such as levofloxacin tablets, azithromycin, meclocycline and other drugs for treatment. During the treatment period, pay attention to a light diet, avoid spicy food, drink plenty of water, and urinate frequently.

Symptoms of urethritis in boys

1. Urethral itching: After the onset of urethritis, there is secretion, which will make the patient feel urethral itching in the long run. In chronic urethritis, urethral secretion decreases, and there is only itching or ant feeling. The urination irritation symptoms will not be as obvious as the acute phase symptoms. Some patients will not experience these symptoms.

2. Abnormal urination: Patients with urethritis will experience symptoms such as urinary pain, urgency, frequent urination, and turbid urine. The frequency of urination will also increase. When urinating, they will feel a burning and pain in the urethra. Sometimes the pain symptoms will radiate to the lower abdomen or perineum. Some patients have turbid urine and sometimes blood in the urine.

3. Urethra secretions: People with urethritis will have urethra secretions. In the early stage of the disease, the secretions are less, thin, and mucous or mucopus. If you do not urinate for a long time, a small amount of thin secretions will overflow from the urethra. Sometimes it only manifests as a scab blocking the urethra or contaminating underwear in the morning.
