What disease is it that causes a lump like intestine next to the testicle?

Testicles are particularly important for men. Testicles are where men produce sperm. Generally, men are most afraid that their testicles will develop diseases and endanger their health. If men find that there is a mass of intestine-like things next to the testicles, they need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. This situation is caused by testicular disease. If it is not treated in time, it will affect future fertility. The following introduces what disease there is a mass of intestines next to the testicles.

What is the disease of a lump like intestine next to the testicle?

There is a mass like intestines next to the testicles. There are two common diseases. One is inguinal oblique hernia, which is commonly known as hernia. It is mainly due to weak abdominal wall muscles. The organs in the abdominal cavity descend into the scrotum through the inguinal canal. The contents of the hernia may be the intestines or the greater omentum. After lying flat and resting, the mass can be reduced or returned to the abdomen and can disappear.

Another condition is varicocele, which is mainly seen on the left side and is more common in young and middle-aged men. A worm-like mass can be felt next to the testicles in the scrotum, and it can also be relieved by lying flat. Drug treatment for both diseases is generally ineffective and often requires surgical treatment.

Normal testicles are surrounded by the epididymis, vas deferens and spermatic cord, which may be mistaken for lesions. In case of inguinal oblique hernia, the contents of the abdominal cavity can enter the scrotum. The epididymis can accommodate sperm produced by the testicles and mature the sperm. The tail of the epididymis continues to form the vas deferens, which is thin and tough.

The blood vessels and levator testis of the testis merge into the spermatic cord, which runs along with the vas deferens to the inguinal canal. These structures may be mistaken for lesions. When an inguinal oblique hernia occurs, the intestines and greater omentum in the abdominal cavity may enter the scrotum. At this time, the scrotum will become significantly larger and asymmetrical with the opposite side.

How to treat testicular hernia in infants?

Infant testicular hernia will usually disappear after the baby calms down, lies flat or falls asleep. The previously herniated intestine may slowly shrink on its own, and the swelling will continue to shrink or even completely recover. Alternatively, parents can let the baby lie flat, and then gently push the swelling toward the abdominal cavity at the testicular area with their hands. For this type of reducible hernia, as long as it can disappear, it is not a big problem.

However, if the pain still does not subside after a period of time, and abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, difficulty in defecation and constant crying occur, it should be considered that the inguinal oblique hernia may have been incarcerated. At this time, parents must not ignore it. They must take the baby to the hospital for examination immediately and treat it through surgery. Otherwise, the baby may have complications such as intestinal necrosis, which may even be life-threatening in severe cases.

The time of onset of testicular hernia in infants is uncertain. It may appear a few days after birth, or it may appear a few months or even years after birth. Therefore, it is best for parents to observe the baby's body when changing diapers or bathing the baby, so that problems can be discovered in time and effective treatment can be obtained in time.
