Four major causes of azoospermia

Four major causes of azoospermia

Azoospermia is a very common disease. It is one of the most difficult to cure diseases in men's medicine. Once it occurs, there is no treatment that can completely cure this type of disease. Even the cause of the disease cannot be detected. This causes many patients to lose their original fertility, thus affecting the relationship between couples. It is still necessary to find out the cause as soon as possible.

Common causes

1. No spermatogenic cells. Many azoospermic men have only podocytes in their vas deferens. There are many reasons for this, including administration of cytotoxic drugs, radiation, or some factors during the fetal period.

2. Primary testicular insufficiency. This may be due to genetic defects, undescended testicles, physical damage to the testicles, or testicular insufficiency caused by puberty mumps, which affects fertility.

3. Endocrine diseases. Common ones include: hyperpituitarism or hypopituitarism, pituitary tumor, adrenal hyperfunction or hypofunction, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, etc., all of which can affect sperm growth and cause azoospermia.

4. Vas deferens obstruction. Vas deferens obstruction is the number one cause of azoospermia. Obstructive azoospermia can be caused by congenital maldevelopment of the epididymis or other parts of the vas deferens (including the vas deferens). Some of these cases appear to be hereditary.

Clinical factors

1. Disease factors.

The occurrence of azoospermia is related to some male diseases. When such diseases compress the vas deferens, it is easy to cause the disease. The cause of azoospermia may also be due to some diseases compressing the spermatic vein, thus leading to obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermia.

2. Lifestyle habits.

The reason why azoospermia is more common among young people is related to the strong blood supply in the scrotum. Experts from Hangzhou Guangren Hospital pointed out that young people have stronger sexual functions, and if they stand for a long time, it is easy to increase abdominal pressure, which is one of the causes of azoospermia.

3. Environmental factors.

The occurrence of azoospermia is also related to the living environment of men. If men often work or live in an environment with radiation, high temperature, or toxic gases, the spermatogenic cells in the testicles will be damaged, and in severe cases, azoospermia may occur.
