Lump on penis

Lump on penis

Many men will find that they have a lump on their penis. If this symptom disappears quickly, then there is no need to worry too much. But if it persists for a long time, you need to consider whether it is a symptom caused by genital herpes. It is important to know that the impact of genital herpes is still relatively large, so it needs to be treated in time. Below, I will introduce you to the relevant knowledge of genital herpes!

1. A lump grows on the penis skin

Genital herpes, also known as genital herpes or herpes type 2, can be transmitted by herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2, but is mainly caused by "herpes simplex virus type 2". It is a sexually transmitted disease transmitted during sexual intercourse with a patient, and the incubation period is about five to six days. The herpes virus can lurk in the nerves of the human body, and 50% to 80% of patients will have a chance of recurrence. The medical community has not yet been able to cure genital herpes. The following are some common causes of recurrence: exposure to sunlight, mental stress, depression, malnutrition, damage to the genital skin, and the onset of menstruation. Maintaining a balanced diet, doing more exercise and getting more rest can help the body resist the recurrence of genital herpes.

2. Causes

Genital herpes is a chronic, recurrent, and difficult-to-cure disease caused by ulcers of the urogenital and perianal skin and mucosa caused by the herpes simplex virus. Since the herpes simplex virus is not easy to survive outside the body, it exists in skin lesion exudates, semen, prostatic fluid, cervical and vaginal secretions. It is mainly transmitted directly by sexual intercourse. Genital herpes patients, subclinical or non-manifested detoxification patients, and atypical genital herpes patients are the main sources of infection. Those with skin lesions are highly contagious. Pregnant women with herpes simplex virus infection can pass through the placenta to cause intrauterine infection of the fetus (rare) or infect newborns through the soft birth canal (more common).

3. Symptoms

There are clusters or scattered small blisters around the external genitalia or anus, which rupture to form erosions or ulcers after 2 to 4 days. They are painful and may be accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, headache, and fatigue.

After the primary skin lesions subside, the rash recurs. Recurrent genital herpes is milder than primary systemic symptoms and skin lesions and has a shorter course.
