Penis and testicles

Penis and testicles

The penis and testicles are male reproductive organs. The testicles are located inside the scrotum, and the penis is a reproductive organ whose main function is to transport semen to the female's fallopian tubes to combine with the egg, which is the complete inheritance of the next generation of human beings. Therefore, we need to take relevant protective measures for these two organs, and male friends should be careful not to masturbate excessively and indulge in lust. However, the length and size of the penis and testicles will not affect sexual function.

The testicle is a male reproductive gland located in the scrotum, one on each side, and the left side is generally slightly lower than the right side. It is slightly flattened oval. The penis is divided into three parts: head, body, and root. It is mainly composed of two penile corpora cavernosa and one urethral corpora cavernosa, and is covered with fascia and skin.

(1) Testicular size and sexual function

Some newlywed men suddenly discover that their testicles are relatively small before marriage, and they are very worried about whether this will affect their future sexual function.

We know that the strength of a person's sexual function is affected by many factors such as age, physical condition, psychology, and disease, among which the most critical is the level of sex hormones. Male sex hormones mainly come from the testicles. The testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side, and are slightly flattened ovals. They are free in front, with the mesentery attached to the rear edge and connected to the epididymis at the rear and upper part. The seminiferous tubules of the testicles produce sperm, and the interstitial cells secrete male hormones.

Male hormones play an important role in promoting the normal development of male accessory organs and maintaining sexual function. However, if the testicles are congenitally deformed or dysplastic, the gonadal function is impaired, and the male hormone secretion is severely insufficient or completely lacking, sexual function will not be achieved. If the testicles originally developed normally, but were later damaged or removed due to inflammation, trauma, etc., normal sexual function will gradually decline until it disappears. Before marriage, long-term exposure to harmful substances and gases, wearing tight pants, taking hot baths too frequently, or having bad habits such as alcoholism and smoking will damage the testicles, causing them to develop poorly and atrophy, leading to sexual dysfunction. It can be seen that the testicles are closely related to sexual function.

To know whether testicular size affects sexual function, we must first understand the normal volume of testicles at different ages. Before the age of 10, testicular development is in a relatively quiescent stage, with a volume of only 1 to 3 cubic millimeters. After the age of 10, when puberty begins, the testicles rapidly increase in size. At the age of 18, the testicular volume reaches the adult level, which is 12 to 25 cubic millimeters. After the age of 60, men enter the aging stage, and the testicular volume gradually shrinks.

Due to genetic and nutritional factors, the size of testicles varies from person to person, some are larger, some are smaller, but as long as they are within the normal range, they will not affect sexual function. If a person's testicle volume is less than 12 cubic millimeters, it means that the testicles are underdeveloped or atrophied, and the spermatogenic function will be affected. At this time, although there is no spermatogenic function, sexual function still exists. If the testicle volume is less than 6 cubic millimeters, it means that the interstitial cells in the testicles that control the secretion of the gonads have malfunctioned, and the sexual function is very weak.

(2) Penis size and sexual function

How do you know the size of a penis? Just take a ruler and measure it. Some scholars report that the average length of an adult penis is 6.55 cm or 6.9 cm, while others report it is 9.05 cm or 10 cm. Even in the same region, the measurement results vary. The average length of an adult penis when erect is 11.04 to 12 cm. One scholar reported a huge penis that was 18 cm long when erect, which was still considered "normal."

For an adult, the size of the penis after full erection is constant, and it is related to age, region, height, weight, obesity and testicle size. The penis is basically mature after the age of 16, but before the age of 30, the length can still increase slightly. In the general population, the penis size is positively correlated with height, weight, and testicle volume; the penis development of thin people (less than 10% of the standard weight) and obese people (more than 20% of the standard weight) is poor, but these differences are within the normal range. There are also differences between different ethnic groups.

The key to whether an organ is normal or not is whether its function is normal. The penis is a sexual organ. As long as it can fully erect when sexually excited and has enough hardness to be inserted into the vagina for sexual intercourse, its function is normal. The sensory nerves of the vagina are mainly distributed in the outer 1/3 part, and during sexual intercourse, this part will have a "tightening" effect on the penis due to congestion and contraction. Therefore, the size of the penis is usually not important for sexual life and sexual pleasure.

The size of the penis varies greatly from person to person, especially when it is flaccid. Many young people do not understand this, and when they observe other people taking a bath, they always feel that their penis is smaller than others, and therefore feel ashamed and distressed, and even dare not go to public bathrooms. This is completely unnecessary.

As long as the secondary sexual characteristics develop normally, there is no obvious penile deformity or testicular atrophy, and the penis erection function is good, there is no need to worry about the size of the penis.
