Sudden testicular enlargement

Sudden testicular enlargement

Sudden testicular enlargement may be caused by orchitis, especially urethritis and cystitis. These diseases are related to daily living habits and too frequent sex. You should exercise moderation and pay attention to the protection of the testicles and penis. The reason for sudden testicular enlargement is usually that the testicles are infected. You can learn about its causes.

What causes sudden testicular enlargement? Doctors say testicular enlargement can be caused by a variety of reasons, mainly the following diseases:

1. Acute non-specific orchitis:

It often occurs in patients with urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, prostatectomy and long-term indwelling catheters. The infection spreads to the epididymis through the lymph or vas deferens, causing epididymal testitis. In severe cases, testicular abscess and testicular infarction may occur. The diagnosis is mainly based on clinical symptoms such as high fever, chills, testicular pain, scrotal redness, and edema.

2. Chronic orchitis:

It is mostly caused by incomplete treatment of non-specific acute orchitis. It can also be caused by fungal, spirochetal, or parasitic infections. Pathologically, the testicles are enlarged or hardened and atrophied, the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules is hyalinized and degenerative, and the spermatogenic epithelial cells disappear. There may be hardening around the seminiferous tubules, and small hyperplastic foci may also form.

3. Epididymitis:

Epididymitis is one of the most common diseases in men's health. There are many causes of epididymitis. When the body's resistance is low, pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus will take the opportunity to retrograde through the fallopian tube and invade the epididymis, causing inflammation. Therefore, epididymitis often leads to posterior urethritis, prostatitis, and seminal vesiculitis.

4. Testicular tumor:

When testicular tumors cause testicular enlargement, it is generally not painful, sometimes just a bloated feeling. After a period of time, the testicular enlargement becomes firm and loses its elasticity. In the early stage, the testicular surface is smooth, but in the late stage, the nodules are uneven, necrotic, softened, and eroded, and then connected to the scrotal skin, making the scrotal surface dark red, accompanied by twisted and dilated blood vessels.

Doctors at Wuxi Nanjian Men's Hospital remind that if men have symptoms of enlarged and painful testicles, they must go to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment. Never take the attitude of just bearing it and hoping it will get better slowly.

How to protect your testicles in daily life:

1. Men should pay attention to the care of their testicles. If you feel any pain during massage, it may be orchitis or epididymitis. Please go to the hospital for examination in time.

2. In daily life, male friends should eat more foods containing vitamin C. Because vitamin C can help us resist bacteria, resist inflammation, and improve our immunity. Substances with high vitamin C content include carrots, green vegetables, apples, oranges, grapes and other fresh vegetables and fruits.

3. Eat less fish soup, mutton, pig's trotters and other so-called "irritating foods". These foods will lead to increased inflammatory secretions in the inflamed area, further infiltration and spread of testicular inflammation and aggravation of symptoms. Eat less spicy food and irritating food. These will affect the normal physiological function of the testicles.

4. Try to reduce smoking and drinking as much as possible. Smoking is not only harmful to the lungs, but also to the testicles.

5. Standing or sitting for too long will also compress the testicular nerves, causing congestion of the blood vessels near the testicles.

6. The healthiest way to maintain the testicles is to use massage. This not only has a maintenance effect, but also avoids the side effects of drugs. When using drugs for maintenance, you must follow the doctor's instructions and do not take drugs without authorization. Men can massage the testicles with both hands when taking a bath or before going to bed. Use your thumb to gently pinch the testicles clockwise and counterclockwise for ten minutes each. Long-term persistence will definitely be beneficial. If you find abnormal pain during massage, it may be orchitis or epididymitis. Please go to the hospital for examination in time.
