What should I do if I have edema after circumcision?

For men, the health of the penis and testicles is very important, because it is not only related to the "sexual happiness" after marriage, but also to the couple's childbearing. However, for Asian men, they generally face a problem, that is, the foreskin is too long. Some men even have the front part of their penis covered by the foreskin, and even if the penis is erect, the glans will not be exposed. So, what should I do if there is edema after circumcision?

Swelling of the circumcision wound is a common symptom. Mild edema of the glans penis within 3 to 4 days after the operation is normal, but there are individual differences. The reason for the edema is that after circumcision, the blood circulation in the frenulum of the foreskin is relatively abundant. After the operation, the blood vessels and lymphatic vessels in the skin are cut off, and a new return path is established, resulting in poor return, which takes some time. Therefore, local edema of the circumcision can generally recover in 2-3 weeks, and some can last for more than 3 months, but there is no need to panic. After the new circulation is formed, it will naturally stop swelling.

There are cases where edema is not completely eliminated 3 months after circumcision. The main reasons are that local lymphatic drainage is not fully established, early and frequent sexual intercourse, and frequent inappropriate stimulation of the incision site. Therefore, after surgery, you should be careful to avoid stimulating activities on the foreskin wound.

If the wound is swollen due to wound inflammation, you can use physiological saline to rinse the wound, and then apply iodine to disinfect the wound. If the foreskin wound cannot heal for a long time, you can use Yu's wound-closing prescription to treat the wound, which can reduce inflammation and swelling and promote rapid healing of the wound.

If the patient's foreskin wound swelling is more serious, some diuretic and anti-edema drugs can be used for auxiliary treatment.
