Redness of the glans skin

Redness of the glans skin

The skin of the glans is very delicate and is a very important part of the male body. All men will carefully protect their glans, but various problems may arise if they are not careful. Peeling and redness are the most common ones. The first thing to consider is that it is caused by glans inflammation or getting angry. Therefore, you must pay attention to private hygiene, clean it every day, drink plenty of water, eat less spicy food, and try not to get angry.

Cause 1: Acute superficial balanitis

Symptoms include: skin lesions with local erythema, swelling, erosion, exudation, and blisters in severe cases. It is often caused by local friction, poor rotation of the foreskin, and allergies to external drugs such as condoms can also cause acute inflammation of the glans foreskin. This type should be distinguished from fixed drug eruption. The latter has a history of taking medicine. The skin lesions are initially round or oval bright red spots, which later become purple-red spots with clear boundaries, and gradually exudate, erode or superficial ulcers.

Reason 2: Candidal balanitis

Symptoms include: skin lesions presenting erythema, papules or papulorum, followed by flaky erosions, with white dot-like cheese-like secretions attached to the surface, which can be easily scraped off. It can be primary or secondary to diabetes or long-term use of antibiotics, corticosteroids and sedatives. The patient's spouse may have candidal vaginitis. Candida can be seen in fungal microscopy and culture of local secretions.

Cause 3: Cytoplasmic balanoposthitis

Symptoms include: localized infiltrative dark red spots on the glans penis, with a smooth surface and a little desquamation. Histopathological features of diagnostic value are epidermal hyperplasia and a large number of plasma cells infiltrating in the dermis.

Reason 4: Trichomonas balanitis

It is a mild, transient erosive glans inflammation caused by trichomonas infection. Initially, erythema and papules appear on the glans, with clear boundaries and gradually expanding in scope. On the erythema, there may be small blisters ranging from the size of a needle tip to a millet grain, which may expand and fuse with each other to form a mild erosive surface.

Reason 5: Not paying attention to hygiene or getting angry

If you don't pay attention to hygiene or get angry, it may also cause the glans to peel. Sometimes in life, the soap or cleaning liquid may not be rinsed clean during the washing process, or the use of special female washing liquid may also cause peeling or redness and swelling. In this case, just pay attention to hygiene and clear away heat and reduce fire.
