The penis is an important male reproductive organ and sexual organ. The male penis is mainly composed of the glans penis and foreskin, as well as the corpus cavernosum inside the penis. When a man is sexually stimulated, the corpus cavernosum inside the penis will quickly become engorged and swollen, and the release of semen is the manifestation of the male orgasm. However, of course, when the foreskin is too long, it is also easy to cause dirt and filth to accumulate, resulting in inflammation of the coronal groin. What are the specific symptoms when the coronal groin is inflamed? Many patients develop red spots or small papules on the glans of the penis and suspect that they have a sexually transmitted disease. When they go to the doctor, they find out that it is balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans penis). In fact, balanoposthitis is a common disease. Balanitis is divided into balanitis and glansitis. Because they often occur at the same time, it is called penile balanitis. This inflammation can be infectious or non-infectious. Infectious balanitis is more common in clinical practice. Infectious balanitis is often caused by unclean sexual intercourse, infection with Candida albicans, Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Gonorrhea or other bacteria; non-infectious factors are mostly due to excessive foreskin and insufficient cleaning. The unclean matter between the foreskin and the glans, that is, smegma, will accumulate, irritating the local foreskin and mucous membrane to cause inflammation. Common clinical types of balanitis include the following, and their symptoms are: (1) Acute superficial balanitis At the beginning, there is local flushing, redness and swelling of the penis skin, and a burning and itching sensation in the glans. When the foreskin is turned back, the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans can be seen to be congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding. After secondary infection, small ulcers can be seen, with foul-smelling milky white purulent secretions. If it rubs against underwear, it will be painful, and the patient often has difficulty in moving. It may be accompanied by enlargement and tenderness of the inguinal lymph nodes. (2) Circumflex erosive balanitis On the glans penis and foreskin, erythema can be seen, which gradually expands and becomes ring-shaped, and may form a superficial ulcer surface. (3) Candida albicans balanitis Erythema can be seen on the foreskin and glans penis. The surface is smooth and there are small blisters. The edges of the erythema are clear. In acute attacks, there are erosions and exudates. (4) Trichomonas balanoposthitis Papules and erythema appear on the glans penis, gradually expanding with clear edges. Small blisters the size of a needle can be seen on the erythema, and finally an erosive surface is formed. |
