Can I take anti-inflammatory drugs for epitesticular cyst?

The epididymis is very important for men. The cyst in the epididymis is often called spermatocele. Generally speaking, epididymal cysts occur in young people around 20-40 years old, and most epididymal cysts generally have no symptoms in the early stages. Epididymal cysts must be treated as early as possible, but most epididymal cysts are treated through surgery.

1. What are the dangers of epididymal cyst?

1.1. Small epididymal cysts do not cause any major harm if there are no complications or discomfort.

1.2. Patients with epitesticular cyst complicated with orchitis may induce varicocele, synovitis, prostatitis, endocrine diseases, nephritis and other kidney diseases, urinary tract infections, malignant tumors, etc.

1.3. Epididymal cysts may lead to decreased male sexual function or even complete loss of sexual function.

1.4. Epididymal cysts may lead to dead sperm, azoospermia, and loss of fertility.

1.5. Patients with concurrent infection of epididymal cysts may transmit inflammatory bacteria to their spouses, causing gynecological diseases.

1.6. If epididymal cysts and testicular diseases are not cured for a long time, it may cause spermatorrhea, kidney deficiency, loss of vital energy, severe limb coldness, back pain, and premature aging.

2. What is the cause of epididymal cyst?

The cause of epididymal cyst may be due to local inflammation and adhesion, which may cause the epididymal duct to be blocked. It is generally believed that the pathogenic bacteria of chronic epididymitis enter retrogradely through the vas deferens cavity, and some believe that it invades through the lymphatic system. Clinically, it is a chronic process, the epididymis is enlarged, hard or accompanied by nodules, and the tenderness is mild. The clinical manifestations are mostly a feeling of scrotal swelling, no special discomfort, and the disease develops slowly. A round or oval swelling can be felt at the head of the epididymis, with a smooth surface, no tenderness, cystic feeling, clear boundaries with surrounding tissues, and no adhesion. Or a small single epididymal vas deferens is blocked and the ductal fluid is retained, forming a cyst.

3. What are the symptoms of epididymal cyst?

3.1. Hydrocele: It is quite common and is usually confused with spermatocele. During physical examination, you can feel that there is a lot of fluid accumulated in the hydrocele, which is mostly located in front of the testicle or surrounding the entire testicle. Doctors usually cannot touch the testicle through the fluid. Its light transmission test shows a high degree of light transmission. If you use a needle to aspirate, you can suck out a lot of clear strawberry-colored fluid.

3.2 Varicose veins: It is common in young people. It is a group of dilated, earthworm-like veins located in the spermatic cord above the testicles. During the physical examination in the standing position, many winding superficial venous vessels can be seen on the surface of the scrotum. When touching, it can be found that the spermatic cord is very firm, and there are many unevenly distributed blood vessels in the form of cords. It is mostly located above and behind the testicles. It is one of the important causes of male infertility.

3.3. Epididymal tuberculosis: It may be a moderately hard cord-like mass, and sometimes it can be in contact with the beaded vas deferens, seminal vesicles and prostate, and other concomitant signs. Most patients have sterile urinary tract. Or the presence of sinuses is helpful to establish the diagnosis of epididymal tuberculosis.

3.4. Epididymal tumor: It is quite rare and is generally a benign, opaque myoid adenoma.
